By windward strides and holy ghosts, what rests beside the barren coasts?

You know that thing when you've been working on something and you just finished it? And then you read it and realize that it's thematically inappropriate, or oddly paced, or just plain bad? And then you realize you have to re-do about a week's worth of work? And then you are interrupted by the appearance of a young child that can only speak Russian, but they have the most unusual blue eyes, and a

    A bold new direction!

    I have good news, everyone!

Due to recent events, I've come to realize that sustaining my current pace of work is simply not going to happen. In between my busy schedule of work, video games, crying in my shower, and training to beat the record for most packets of instant oatmeal cooked in a day, I'm simply swamped.

Stormsinger is getting large. Like, excessively so. Long and large enough that I may need to do something about this. So I will.

The events of Stormsinger, such as they are, will heretofore be spread into two books. Those of you following the story closely will probably be able to guess where this split will be.

Oh wait. No you won't. Never mind, then. But I have been able to come up with working titles for the next books in the Sunfall Cycle, and you may be able to glean information from them.

Next shall come Courts of The Magi, after which comes On a Shadowed Sea, and we shall conclude our tale with the one I personally will be looking forward to most, Warbringer. Make of those what you will.

New chapter soon, but you knew that, and I look forward to giving you more horse words soon!

Cool, we get another story after stormsinger ends!
That means another exciting game of "Guess who Airstream's gonna kill off next"!

Speculation time!

Courts of the Magi
-Shall we assume we are paying particular attention to Libra and most likely Cobblestone? She will probably take the apprenticeship, because why would Airstream waste a unicorn with formidable powers?

On a Shadowed Sea
-Sea? Knowledge? What's that? Maybe we see more of the Shadow itself. Or we look through the perspective of the Cult of Crows (assuming they are actually involved). Or even, lots of maritime adventures! Bah! All that ever happens on a boat is that people get attacked by skarks/krakens/Old Gods and sail straight into whirlpools and not much else. Sometimes pirates.

Warbringer
-Open war against the Shadow. End of conflict. Finally, rest. Maybe we can see some old friends before we move on to something else.

Other things to consider:
-Ivy, Cobblestone's friend that had her throat cut. My initial assumption was that she would be important later on in the story, but we've neither seen hide nor hair of her since she fell in the river. Maybe I was wrong. Maybe not.
-Mother. Well, she's not doing much right now. As far as we know. The gods may still be planning something though.
-Twilight. Less focus on her in this story. She's just kind of there as a supporting actor right now. But she's still important. She still was chosen to be the champion of Creation. But she is still working behind the scenes. Along with the other alicorns.
-Celestia, Luna, Cadence. Useless bunch, they are. Might do some backstabbing in one of the later stories. Maybe not.

On a Shadowed Sea

Hmmmm, does this have anything to do with the moon?

That also seems valid....Maybe that's where the Shadow is hiding, either in one of the "Seas" on the moon or on the dark side.
