Hello Everypony! With the completion of the original "Luna's Story" trilogy, I've been receiving a lot of messages from my readers asking if they could write stories about the Lunar Stallions as well. Since there are seventy of them originally (now 24, after the battle in Canterlot), there's a LOT of space to write stories with. Since I've received more than six, I decided to make a blog including all the details and "rules" that I have created for the Lunar Stallions in my stories.
I hereby give permission for anypony that wants to write about them, to do so. Just be sure to give credit where credit is due in your author's notes.

POWERS AND ABILITIES:
1. Medallions: Lunar Stallions draw their powers from a medallion around their necks. Passed down from father to son, they represent not only the bloodline of the original Lunar Stallions from a thousand years ago, but also hold the key to their powers. Reciting a mantra when the medallion is worn activates said powers: "In the dark we tear and rend, to end all evils with spines to bend. Lust and power, hunger and might. By Luna's will, and dark of night."
2. The "Frenzied" State. The first time a Lunar Stallion activates his powers, the necklace takes hold, turning him completely feral and animalistic. In this state, he will be completely prone to extreme violence, paranoia, hunger, and lust. He will have the mental capacity of a large dog. This state can last anywhere from a couple of minutes to almost half an hour, depending on the stallion. The second time the necklace is activated, the "frenzied" state will be shorter. The third time will be shorter than that, and so on. Within the first ten transformations, a Lunar Stallion will no longer lose his mind after the transformation. During the frenzied state a Lunar Stallion is not considered responsible for his actions, and must thusly be proctored by other Lunar Stallions of Princess Luna herself.
3. The Ancestors. When in the Lunar Stallion state, a stallion will be in direct contact with a group known as the ancestors. Any pony who ever wore his necklace and activated it before him leaves an imprint of himself inside it. In the back of his head, a Lunar Stallion will be able to hear and feel his ancestors conferring, encouraging, or otherwise giving advise. Although this is not communicated with actual words, thoughts and feelings make their messages perfectly clear. The ancestor's are prone to standing in rows like a choir and "singing" to the stallion they look after. When this occurs a Lunar Stallion's armor will briefly augment him into a super-powered state, in which his strength and speed goes even higher than normal. This does not last for long, but the excitement of the ancestors is known to drive a stallion into an unstoppable force in battle. The ancestors are also known to make demands, often with the stallion's best interests at heart. Basic commands like sleep, eat a lot, and kill are among them. Though vocal, again they can neither compel nor control a Lunar Stallion's body.
4. Powers. After activating the Lunar Medallion, the stallion will recieve a series of powers and changed looks:
All Ponies -- Grey fur, armor, golden eyes, serpent-like pupils, triangle-shaped teeth, night-vision, deeper voice, increased strength and speed.
Earth Ponies Only -- Augmented strength, muscles and tougher skin. Less prone to bleeding.
Pegasus Ponies Only -- Bat-like wings and greater airborne agility. Hanging-upside down from ceilings possible.
Unicorn Ponies Only -- Longer, sharper horns and greater magical ability.

Wow, that's pretty awesome, as well as really useful. Do you mind if we just borrow some names (with credit) without using the rest of the rules? I don't think your kind of guard would fit my slapstick Equestrian Guard.
Actually, that's a though....I could drop a reference or two there for effect, hehehee.

125705 I dunno about that, I had this story in the works for awhile now, I just thought since Aegis included me in a story it would be cool to give him a similar shout out. That and I suck at coming up with names, pony or otherwise and I just loved the idea of Panzer Hoof.
I don't think that many people are gonna be really up for writing a story on this, I think the only ones too up for it are the six which have asked already. I'd be surprised to see more than that. I could be wrong though.

you should make a group to make it easier to make stories of the lunar stallion
Very useful, I may just use this if I ever get around to working on my story again.
On a side note, I wonder if Luna would ever have another Champion (she likely wouldn't unless there was a war)...
This gives me new ideas for my story :D
