I am running from something I'm becoming, but becoming one means I'm running from all I am.

    ^_^

Welp, the Week of Derpy is over—and I’m pretty happy. Nothing got very “popular,” and certainly nothing hit the feature box, but I’m still happy. I did what I set out to do, and that always gives one satisfaction.

Something that just rubs my fur the wrong way. · 12:03pm Mar 24th, 2014

Listen in if you want. If you don't want to hear about one of my pet peeves, then carry on carrying on.
Enter: Tim (Volunteer Worker)
Enter: Boss
Enter: Me (Volunteer Worker)

(Tim know three weeks in advance that he is scheduled to be somewhere at 08:45 sharp, and he has confirmed one week prior that he is still good to work.)

08:45
No sign of Tim.

09:00
Boss texts Tim.

09:10
Boss calls Tim. Phone goes to voice mail. No reply to text.

09:20
Boss calls Tim again. Phone goes to voice mail. No reply to text.

09:30
Boss calls Tim again. Phone goes to voice mail. No reply to text.

09:35
Boss needs someone to help him. Boss calls me.

10:05
I get there. I start setting up for the event.

10:15
Tim texts my boss and says, "I'm on my way. I had to take my wife to work." (Or something like that.)
Me and my boss look at each other. Boss replies "don't bother coming in."

. . .

How hard is it to reply to a text? Really? You couldn't just let the boss know? He knew he was supposed to be there and knew he was needed. I can only imagine how frustrating that is for my boss to know that he can't depend on one of his workers; I know how frustrating it is for me. It's not like this is the first time either. It's happened before. Many times: probably somewhere between 40 and 50 percent of the time that he is scheduled. Sometimes he doesn't even say anything until after the event.

I just.

Rant over. I feel better.

The moral of this story: Please be dependable. It makes things easier on everyone. And if you are, I salute you.

That's a lot like concerts, only instead of depending on a few people, you're depending on 40-50. If a very important player, soloist, section leader, or the ONLY player of that instrument isn't there, and the concert begins in ten minutes, it's awful. I can semi-relate I guess. Being dependable is a very important trait.

Yeah, happened a lot like this to me, but in school projects, and i always ended alone in school at night waiting all day long with no sing of competence. I want so much to smack a sock filled with manure on ther faces

That's really late...Tim should have told the Boss of his predicament and it might have smoothed things over with understanding and even a joke or two once he did get there.

Judging from how long he took to text back...I really don't think he was taking his wife to work. Overslept, maybe. A wife would have nagged him to respond to the texts. :rainbowlaugh:

Guessing your over 18, then? I learn something new about you everyday! :ajsmug:

Oh, and you are a bastard. Making me remember such a traumatic scene in Doctor Who! :applecry:

You're right! :rainbowlaugh:

Or am I? Notice I said volunteer? You don't have to be eighteen to do volunteer work. I could be twelve, eight, ninety-nine, or thirty.
