As you all well know, my latest story is months and months since being updated. There is a reason for that, you know; School sucks. Add to that it's been over a decade since I graduated high school and you see where my problem lies. Luckily for me the Veteran's Administration is footing the bill!
The second issue is more simplistic; I don't know how to continue the story. I've just not been feeling the push to finish editing the next chapter. Then there's my catching up on other fic stories that are the light at the end of 12 hours of lectures, and other stories that pop into my head that I would LOVE to write but just don't have the drive to start. They're starting to pile up - here are the ideas that I've collected so far:
"The Original Monster Pony": (based on my 'solution' to The Elements of Insanity by TheInvertedShadow and FlamingHammers) Princess Luna, having discovered what became of the Element-Bearers after a year of searching, tells Celestia that there is only one thing that can stop the Demented Six and bring them back to Equestria; cut a deal with the original Monster Pony. Celestia is not happy with this idea, but bows to her sister's experience in the matter. Shortly thereafter, Brutalight Sparcake and her friends are attacked by an army of dark ponies led her Arch-Nemesis... Somepony she thought she destroyed many years ago... Nightmare Moon!
"Twins" (working title): Two unicorn mares, Daylight and Moon Sparkle, have been best friends since foalhood. Sisters in all but name, they recently joined the Royal Guards. They have finally reached the top after a long, hard life, having been orphaned at birth. Unfortunately neither questioned the mysterious breaks they had. When Daylight is promoted to Celestia's personal bodyguard she accidentally overhears the reason why: Princess Celestia and Captain of the Royal Guard Flash Sentry strongly suspect that her 'sister' Moon is quite possibly the daughter of the late Princess Twilight Sparkle!
"Eris": A unicorn mare, the daughter of Twilight Sparkle and Flash Sentry, grows up upset with the fact she is a mere Unicorn rather than an Alicorn. Frustrated with Fate she finally gives up and leaves home. A few months later Twilight starts hearing stories of grisly murders; unicorns - both male and female - turn up dead, drained of their magic. The only other link in common with them is that they are last seen in the company of a familiar unicorn mare...
And my current favorite idea:
"Soldier": A Pegasus Stallion in the Solar Guard - Princess Celestia's elite Bodyguard - is doing quite well for himself despite coming from a rich family. He despises that fact to his squad-mates, reminding them that he had to push the issue to enlist rather than become an officer, and is quite happy with a grunt's work. However, things take a turn for the worse when he is critically injured in the line of duty when saving his squad from a mad unicorn throwing destructive magic around, revealing that he is more than of noble birth...
I like your soilder idea for a story. I would like to see the next chapter in your other stories, but if you feel inspired to write solider, then do it. Best of luck.
late Princess Twilight Sparkle! <- Err, what? I didn't quite catch the part where she'd died. That last one sounds viable.
