I've never been so excited!
I commissioned this piece from Valkyrie-Girl to be the cover art for Project Sunflower: Harmony, the full-blown sequel to Project: Sunflower. I really like how it turned out. Valkyrie-Girl took my suggestion and turned it into something even better than I'd imagined.
In other sequel news, I've got the rough drafts done for the first three chapters of Harmony and will be getting those to my editors this weekend. I'm really psyched about finally getting past all of the planning and plotting phases for this story so I can actually write the darned thing! You should see the first chapter hit Fimfiction in a couple of weeks, tops.

Excited? Yes. But also nervous. Very nervous.
Project Sunflower is the best fic I've read on this site (that's been completed) and a sequel, as much as I would love to have a worthy follow up, risks mucking that up. If the sequel is bad (probably won't be, but I still worry) that, for me, would drag the original down as well, as I can't really mental cordon things off like that. So yeah, excited, but nervous.
Erin is now Daenerys Targaryen, with those dragons. So excited!

I'm sorry to say that I never got around to reading Project: Sunflower until some time after its completion so I was unable to critique, criticize, or just comment on the story as it was unfolding. But this I promise: I will be with this story from the beginning and do my best, what little part a mere reader such as I am able, to help make this story the best it can be.

1872822 Pern's good fun. The series extends all the way to 2012. I don't know if Todd McCaffrey will keep writing them though, because sadly, Anne certainly can't. I think 'The White Dragon' from the first "trilogy" was my favorite.
On an unrelated note, it occurs to me that if Sunflower has all the characteristics of a fledgling alicorn that we will be seeing a future growth spurt à la Twilight Sparkle. It'll be interesting to see how she handles that.
