Story Recommendations of the Day: Happy Belated Valentine's Day Edition! · 7:23pm Feb 15th, 2014
Here's some of the stuff I've been reading and enjoying lately! I hope you like it too!
As for what I myself have been writing ... I have been writing lately, actually. I'm about 10,000 words into a multi-chaptered story set in Season 4, and with any luck, I should have that ready to go with the next month or so.
There will be TwiJack, of all things. Madness!
"The Lavender Letter" by Sunchaser
Story synopsis: Twilight has something she needs to tell Princess Celestia--something that means a chance at getting everything she's ever wanted, or of losing everything she's ever had. Something so terrifying that the only way she could say it was in a letter...and so wonderful that she had the courage to send it.
A while back, I'd realized I'd never read any Twilestia, and I found that odd since it's such a huge ship in the fandom. So I asked folks on Tumblr if they had any recommendations, and this story was suggested by at least three or four different people. I can see why. It was utterly delightful! I thought Twilight’s characterization was lovely, and the story did a really nice job of showing Celestia as more than “just” a princess without taking away what and who Celestia is in-show.
"Glimmerhorn Vale" by Abalidoth
Story synopsis: Twilight teaches Trixie a lesson about the history of unicorn magic.
This is more of a vignette than a story proper, but I enjoyed it. It has a languid, mystical feel to it, and I recommend it to anyone who's a fan of Twilight, Trixie, and/or the S.S. Twixie.
"Stardust in My Eyes" by mousapelli
Story synopsis: Twilight Sparkle is all filled up on weird lately, and that's even before she ends up in an alternate world where Applejack is Rainbow Dash's girlfriend instead of hers. Set during and just after "Equestria Girls."
Found this story via Esle Ynopemos's user page. It's a really wonderful, character-driven exploration of the differences Twilight has made in the lives of her friends based on the similarities and differences between Equestria and the human world of Equestria Girls. There is AppleDash and TwiJack, of course, if you're into either of those sorts o' things, plus the absolute tiniest hint of RariPie.
TwiJack from Donny's Boy? Awesome. I can't wait.
Thanks for the recommendations! We usually have similar tastes so I´ll try to read these soon

I hope you like 'em! Now that Thirty Minute Pony Stories is over and I'm not moderating for that anymore, I hope to do more frequent story recommendations.
