AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAnnouncement! · 8:10pm Feb 6th, 2014
So I've always had a list in my head of things that had to happen before I 'arrived' as a fic writer. Considering what has happened today, I figured now would be as good a time as any to rattle them off:
1. Write a story of which I am proud [X]
Obvious, of course.
2. Get some loyal followers and constructive criticism [X]
No two things define a good fic writer than legions of fans and those few dedicated to making sure he knows every single mistake he's made, which are both integral to growth as a writer.
3. Get featured on EQD [X]
In order to get the kinds of views and following required to stroke my ego share this story with a wider audience, you need to get shown off in a place that already has legions of loyal followers. I know of no better place than Equestria Daily! I have to thank them for their wellspring of writing aids, without which I'd probably still be writing a bit too purple if you get my meaning.
And now, for something that happened today:
4. Someone does fanart of your fic that you have not commissioned or requested [X]
The wonderful FimFicer PixieBlossom mailed me something she did of her own accord today: Loki and Luna playing chess. So woo! Fanart of my fic!
If you're wondering, here's the rest of my list, going down to most improbable:
5. Acquire a TVTropes page.
Fairly straightforward. As my fic progresses, this probability of this happening approaches 1.
6. Someone makes an animation of scenes from my fic on YouTube or similar.
Pretty unlikely, as I have some idea of the amount of work that goes into even casual VA and animation.
7. Get mentioned positively on some famous brony's Twitter.
Getting into the realm of Pipe Dreams here.
8. Get mentioned positively on a VA's Twitter.
Yeah, no.
9. Get mentioned positively on Lauren Faust's and/or Stan Lee's twitter.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no. The universe would experience heat death before this occurs.
And so there you have it. New chapter soon in a few days a few weeks when it's done.
