So...
Remind me to never listen to my depressing/creepy/uplifting playlist while sleep deprived on a 4 hour long plane ride home with nothing to do.
I will end up writing a close to 2,000 word story involving technicolor ponies, an OC, and the tragic and dark tags.
A story which eventually leads into a scene that involves the words prison and rape.
So why not click the Mature and Sex tags while I'm at it.
I don't even know what possessed me to write this... but I did. And to be honest, it's kinda depressing. At least, I get kinda depressed rereading it since it switches POV around the second paragraph and is narrated by the victim for the rest of the story. Leave it to Hello Zepp from the Saw soundtrack to make me write something so awful. (And I don't mean the quality of the writing, to be honest I'm kinda proud of the writing). As strange as this may sound, I think I needed to write that story; get it out of my system you know. I feel that urge to write once again and no, not more clop. At least not for awhile (I really don't like writing about ponies having sex). I've reread my posted story and after realizing it wasn't exactly the epitome of horrible writing like I remembered it being, I've started writing the next chapter. I've also started revising the outline for another fic I've been planning. I'm not going to make any promises because what I've come to realize is that the more I promise to get something out the more I start feeling like I have to do it, like it's my obligation to do it, rather than something I want to do for fun. So, yeah... Anywho, back to the original topic.
The main thing I've been wanting to ask is, should I post the aforementioned story? Of course I'd go through it, edit it, and have someone else look over it as well, but should I even bother with posting it? I'm very conflicted, and since I'm a very indecisive person, I'd like to hear what you guys think: should I, or should I not post?
For the record I do not condone rape, it is an inexcusable crime done not just to woman, but to men as well. Someone forcing another to have sex with them in whatever form is still rape, and it is never the victim's fault. Ever. No matter whatever has happened in a rapists life, it does not excuse or give them the right to violate anybody.
Yes, you should post it. Post everything. Because I know that you will edit it to the point of making it acceptable. None of this spamming garbage.

yeah I agree with exilo you should post it. I know how you feel about sex and stuff like that
but I think its good to try new things. not that I'm saying rape is a good thing but its something new and knowing you the plot will be very interesting for you to even thing about sex.
1800509 Aw thank you, I try my best when it comes to my writing. It's why I'm glad I'm the type of person who edits as they write. I'd hate to be seen as one of those people spamming garbage. Just a few days ago there was a big hubbub over a fic on the feature box that was riddled with grammatical errors, and had a writer who refused to listen to CC and fix any of his mistakes, claiming it to be utter perfection.
Thanks for offering, I really appreciate all the help you've given me so far. To be honest, this is somewhat new territory for me, I'm not exactly sure on how to word/structure certain things properly. However, I am really proud of the setting and mood I managed to create without directly describing where they were. The story isn't actually finished yet... I had only just started writing the rape scene. Rereading it I can actually see parts I was hesitating at. Too bad when I finally got over myself and started getting a semi nice flow our plane had to land.
Would it be ok if I sent you what I had so far? I might regret saying this but, don't hold back, be completely honest with me; really lay into me. I'm nervous about being criticized, but I want this to be as good as it can be, and, I trust you.
Oh I did, I had a great time. It wasn't exactly a vacation (my mom and I were visiting colleges and such), but it was enjoyable. Especially since school had been overbearingly stressful the past couple weeks, it was nice to get a little break. But yeah, I need to get back to a couple people and respond to old as heck messages. I'm sorry for being a bit unresponsive as of late.
1801211 Yeah, my sleep deprived mind gets kinda dark. But you know, it's weird, I think I'm more comfortable writing rape than just normal sex. And that probably has to do with the fact that I don't think it's right to have sex unless your married, but rape, being the morally wrong thing it is, makes sex "ok" to be written since it's not something both parties consented to.
. Basically, because rape is wrong, it makes writing about it (portrayed as something wrong) ok, since I believe premarital sex is wrong.

And yes, it is good to try new things. This has helped me develop this OC a bit more, and get a better handle on his character when I'm writing him. Which is good since he will be a reoccurring character in several of my stories.
To be honest, I don't think there is much plot, but that doesn't mean it's boring. It's just that, besides the rape, nothing else really happens or progresses.

1801354 *chuckle softly* Yeah, it's always a bit nerve wracking to ask for real criticism, huh? I do try to say this: If I didn't care, I wouldn't say anything. The fact that I would be devoting several hours to editing and providing you with advice should show how good a fic it really is. That guy in the Feature Box i wouldn't even give a moment's pass.
I always imagine drill sergeant jokes. "Are you ready to see your work torn apart? Are you ready to break down sobbing that you ever thought you ever had any talent? Are you ready to hate me more than you have ever hated anyone else in your entire life?"

1802455 It is, it really is. I'm always afraid of what others think of me and my writing. Like what impressions they'd get of me from my writing, that sort of thing.

I really value your advice, I know that whatever you say will be well thought out and insightful. While taking any criticism is hard for me, at least I know that you actually wish to be helpful and not hateful.

I've managed to write a little bit more, and I have to say it's been a bit difficult finding the right style for me to write those scenes. I'm, what I guess you would call, a "clean" writer; I use different terms for various body parts because I'm weird and get uncomfortable saying or writing the actual terms for people's private parts
