    Future plans and wishes...

    Hi everybody!

It's been a long time since I've last been active here, and I think it is time to stop and think about the future. You know, many of you have asked me whether I am ever going to write a sequel to Viva Las Pegasus. I appreciate your comments, and the fact that you've enjoyed reading my humble fic, so the least I can do is be honest with you.

VLP is getting translated to Russian!

This is one of those amazing things that leave you without any words... I've recently received a message letting me know that a group of Russian bronies are working on a translation of Viva Las Pegasus to Russian. You can find the link here.

Two thumbs up to those great individuals!

The Music of Viva Las Pegasus · 9:39am Jan 27th, 2014

Hi there!

As you know, music is present in many ways in my sidefic, Viva Las Pegasus. As many of you might have noticed, there's a song title as chapter title, from the prologue to the afterword:

Prologue: Viva Las Pegasus (Viva Las Vegas), Elvis Presley
Chapter 1: The Sound Of Silence, Simon & Garfunkel
Chapter 2: Wild World, Cat Stevens
Chapter 3: Welcome To The Jungle, Guns N' Roses
Chapter 4: Dust In The Wind, Kansas
Chapter 5: Brothers In Arms, Dire Straits
Chapter 6: Two Minutes To Midnight, Iron Maiden
Chapter 7: Everybody Wants To Rule The World, Tears For Fears
Chapter 8: Radio Nowhere, Bruce Springsteen
Chapter 9: Green River, Creedence Clearwater Revival
Chapter 10: Self Control, Laura Branigan
Chapter 11: Who Wants To Live Forever, Queen
Chapter 12: House Of The Rising Sun, The Animals
Chapter 13: Money, Pink Floyd
Chapter 14: Private Investigations, Dire Straits
Chapter 15: Woke Up This Morning, Alabama 3
Chapter 16: Push It To The Limit, Paul Engemann
Chapter 17: Blood On Blood, Bon Jovi
Chapter 18: I Want It All, Queen
Chapter 19: Send Me An Angel, Scorpions
Chapter 20: Skyfall, Adele
Chapter 21: Aces High, Iron Maiden
Chapter 22: Tainted Love, Soft Cell
Chapter 23: Dragon Attack, Queen
Chapter 24: Renegade, Styx
Chapter 25: Through The Barricades, Spandau Ballet
Chapter 26: What It Is, Mark Knopfler
Epilogue: Both Sides Of The Story, Phil Collins
Afterword: Going Home, Mark Knopfler

And the theme songs to the main characters:

Farsight: Concierto de Aranjuez, Adagio, Joaquín Rodrigo
Nadyr: Bourbon Street Parade, Louis Armstrong
Desert Rose: Hallelujah, Leonard Cohen
Avro DeHavilland: Por Una Cabeza, Astor Piazzola/Carlos Gardel
Stuka Talonblade: Txoria Txori, Mikel Laboa
Dee Cleff & Metronome: La Musica Notturna delle Strade de Madrid, Luigi Boccherini
Ampera Von Ohm: Tannhäuser Overture, Richard Wagner
Saddle Buckmare: I Walk The Line, Johnny Cash
Lavender: Suite Asturias, Isaac Albéniz

I'll just claim fan service since Stuka got a song and Dee didn't. :) I think I'm slightly biased. I like good griffon characters a lot for some reason. Probably because I prefer carnivores that should have a similar evolutionary psychology to humans. Then again, I'm still trying to figure out how half eagle, half lion creatures which are both solitary creatures (mainly with regards to lions) would actually develop a society unlike the social hierarchy based species like ponies and apes.

On another note, I like the music.

1764438 Glad you do. I still need to think for songs for the rest of the cast. I'll edit the blog entry when I come up with something.

No, no. I like my theory better. :P
You could use something that hits the tone of "old and used" for Saddle. Finding something with that theme is up to you.

1764490 I agree. That would be his style, no doubt.

I completely called this shit. Although indirectly.

1765341 Shit? It's a matter of tastes. Unless, of course, you mean something different.

1765423 No, I mean I called this shit right here. I knew there was music to be had with this.

1765737 OK, my bad! I misunderstood you.

Of course there is music involved. There is nothing better to create moods and to make ambience. You should check Farsight's theme... it's jerks tears from my eyes every time I listen to it.

There's some music which could fit him as well, it's called Eyes on Fire The bit which I'm talking about starts after a minute and is basically his entire life.

1768357 Yes, the lyrics are surprisingly fitting.
