I'M BACK PONY PEOPLE...With a question. · 10:27pm Jan 24th, 2014
That's right. It would seem as though I actually have this screen to keep for what seems like a while now. It has been absolute hell not being able to write. Like there have been times when I got minor writer's block (That was when I started 'Dark Lights Shine Bright') and that was annoying enough but actually having no option to do it whatsoever is even worse.
I will have you all know that chapter 14 is already being written, now it may not be up to my normal (Amazingly low) standards but I need to get back into the hype of writing and being able to start one chapter after the other so I can know how to make them flow together as well as I can.
I know in my last blog post I said that we would be moving along with the wonderbolts but I realised that I am moving it along to quickly by doing there parts so that is not gonna be happening. I may actually go back to that chapter that was practically all about Misty Fly and Wingspeed and just delete that whole chapter as it was moving WAY to fast for the story. I will of course edit the chapter in which Spitfire goes to Vinyl so that that includes the small Soarin and Spitfire bit at the start of it.
Anyway. I have a question to ask any of you who are willing to answer it. The way I am setting out my chapters is the normal, traditional way. Going with a chapter for each of the events. But I am worried about my pacing of it, the whole Misty Fly and Wingspeed is an example of this. I am thinking that if instead of doing a different chapter for each part of the story, I go by daily chapter things. I don't mean this as in uploading a chapter every day, I mean writing everything that happens in one day or week in the story and having that all as one chapter. This could easily mean either very long chapters, like a dew 10,000 word chapters or it could mean just a normal 2-3,000 word chapter that takes place a month after the previous one in the story.
What I am asking is which would you guys prefer?
Seeing as I can already force my opinion on you as your sole editor, I will let the other readers decide on this. You'll hear plenty about this when I'm editing the chapter.
Preview of my opinions: Longer chapters that go into more detail would, in my honest opinion, be better than short, to-the-point chapters. From what I can tell by looking at comments on other stories and talking to people on the site and in person, longer chapters are better chapters. Ignore me for now. Other people should reply to your question before you decide; I could be completely wrong on this one (I know, right? Me? Wrong?).
