Can we just talk about this?
OH MY GOD that song melts my heart. Okay, I'm probably a little late in talking about this, but I'm so freaking pumped for this episode. For the few of you who don't know what's up, this is going to be the episode airing about two weeks from now. copypasted from the wiki:
"Pinkie makes an astonishing discovery that may link the Pie family to the Apple clan, and no one is more excited than Pinkie to hop on the Apple wagon to find the pony who will know for sure. Along the way they must learn to appreciate each other’s strengths and faults to find out what really makes a family"
HOLY SHIT. Pinkie might be an Apple. I'm literally about to flip a table in excitement. why?
1). Pinkie always struck me as a pony who is more or less estranged from her birth family. We only see them in flashback, and she was miserable. The biggest mystery to me was how Pinkie wound up in Ponyville after she got her cutie mark. That's a whole chunk of Pinkie's character that has never been explored in canon. Did she run away? did she leave her family? Does she ever visit? This is one of the many reasons Why Donny's boy's fic Our True Colors is my all-time favorite fic. It provides that answer.
But there's an iota of chance that the writers just might explain how Pinkie left her family and came to Ponyville
2). due to the head canon of estrangement from her family, I always felt that Pinkie is so quick to make friends is she's trying to fill a void of family, and this episode, whether or not she actually turns out to be AJ's Kin, she'll learn to be part of a family, which would be such a monumental character development for Pinkie. I feel like more than anypony, she wants the support and love a family provides.
3. Watch the video, go on, I'll wait.
done? okay. Did you note how happy and adorable of a family they are with Pinkie in the mix. I want this to be an entire novel. Of Just Pinkie trying to figure out if she's related to AJ, and her being integrated into the family regardless. OH MY GOD what if Pinkie starts helping out on the farm like she did in magical mystery cure?

This could probably be the best episode ever.
Yeah, that's my feelings exactly. This episode, more than any other, is the one I'm really excited to see. I can't wait to hear a clear, crisp version of Apples to the Core. It's already gunning to replace "Smile" as my favorite song in the show
