Displaced - Chapter 11 Author's Notes & Comments · 4:41am May 6th, 2012
Well, after a couple of weeks of cautious writing, dancing perilously close to writer's block, the eleventh chapter of Displaced is here. A slower paced chapter as a buildup for the event of the next, we found ourselves in need of clothes. While I was writing this chapter, I couldn't help but think of it as "Warren Ashland and the Quest for Pants". I wrestled with the idea of simply jumping to the scene that is slated for next chapter and explaining his sudden clothed nature with Rarity did it, but it felt too much like that would have been a big cop-out. It wouldn't have flowed at all, and would have made for a poor chapter.
I also felt that a slower chapter might also make for a good testing ground for my new team of editors. This is where I thank my team. Of course, as always, we have DarkxRedemption, who after beating insomnia was able to edit again. Two new additions to the team are RLYoshi, and frieD195. Even as speed-readers, you both did a great job. Last, but most certainly not least is BearCider. You took the time to go through the chapter with me and discuss in real-time the way certain things were written, or how they could change. It shone a new light on writing, and I have a new appreciation for editors who take their time.
I also can't forget to give a shout-out to Das Lied Fuchs over on deviantART. You were the one who came up with the apple stem comparison when I was looking for something fitting to Applejack's speech patterns, and I gave you my word that I'd acknowledge that fact. Here's to you, friend.
I also felt like sharing something that I enjoyed with the lot of you. Click here for Awesome Lyra.
Wait until he finds out my actual username is TurtleCider.
