While on a work trip to help family in Appleloosa, Big Macintosh strikes up some correspondences with friends back home. These are the letters that crossed Twilight Sparkle's desk.

The Art and Science of Letter Writing has just been added to the Lovey Dovey Ponies shipfic category, and it's a little different than anything else on there for one big reason: the story is entirely letters traded between Twilight and Big Macintosh. Not the usual love poems with perfume sprayed on the pages though, lots of honest talk and friends, hobbies, and business, with some big misunderstandings along the way, closing up with a big open-ended bow at the end. The end doesn't give all the answers, but it's a natural point for the story to end, and is almost guaranteed to touch your heartstrings. If you want to get caught up in a pair of lives for a while, and truly understand and emphasize with their feelings, thoughts and actions, give this a read.
