Looking back at 2013, and a toast to you all · 6:49pm Dec 12th, 2013
As the end of the year is fast approaching, I found myself with some free time and looked over a blog by my friend Maximus Reborn, the writer of the fantastic "Spiders and Magic: Rise of Spider-Mane." Seriously, if your're a Spider-man fan, and you haven't read that story, you seriously need to click that link and follow it. Before you do that though, I'd like to have a quick look back on everything that has happened in the past year for myself. Don't mistake this as egotistical, it just only recently occurred to me exactly what has transpired, and I feel like I should talk about it to some degree.
Well, the first is that I completed my first truly successful story this year. It's not successful because it made the feature box, it's successful because it's the first one I felt genuinely pleased with. The grammar is off (but thankfully someone is fixing that for me) but the story itself really held up, and I think it started something with the rest of my other stories. Honestly, without Doctor Who: Equestria needs a Doctor, I would have never written any more fanfics. That story laid the ground work for "League of Extraordinary Ponies" and "How to Tell Your Friends You're Dating a Changeling," and the entirety of the carnageverse. It's very important to me for that reason, it was a real learning experience writing that story.
So the League, well, that story is something I wanted to do for a long time. I worked on that for nearly half a year, and it has received some decent praise and reception. Well I soon found myself randomly drawn to a 500 word Rainbow Dash shipping prompt. I randomly got changeling, and when I posted the short fic, it received some positive praise. For the hell of it, I decided to flesh it out a bit and write a short story pairing Dash with the changeling. The changeling would become a character who appears in the league, further linking it to the carangeverse. Unlike the league, I though the story would only receive a handful of likes and favourites/ By the next day it had been published, it had over 500 likes... I was introduced to irony for the first time in my writing career.
On the subject of my studies, for those who do not know, I want to work in the film industry. I practice in many things from editing, to filming, to lighting etc. All I know is that it is my calling, writing is also something I would like to get into professionally. I have made two projects that I am particularly proud of, both of them this year. One is a short documentary about how video game DLC is effecting us as the consumer, and a music video of Chris Hadfield's cover of "Space Oddity." If you would like to see them, the links are below.

Now, onto all of you. Reading your comments always brightens my day, no matter my mood. It feels good to cheer people up with a good story or two, and I know fanfiction gets a lot of crap, but I feel it can be a real stepping stone to future writing. Right now, I would like to thank all of you for all of you for following me, and reading my stories for this past year. Because of your support, I'm resurrecting an old story I thought was long dead, I'm planning on writing more romantic stories (RarityxOC), finally write a sequel to Equestria needs a Doctor, and bring a dead skeletal knight of dubious courage into literary form... spoilers ;). There are some specific people I wish to thank though. Certain individuals who have been a great help this past year.

What can I say except thank you. My stories would suck without my trusty editors, and I think I've really improved because of you guys... well sort of... well a little... okay, not really. It's nice to dream though. Anyway, thank you guys for taking the time out of your days to come and clean out the shit from my mass produced crap. Even if Chen could stand to lighten up a bit. XD

I can't begin to describe to you how happy your artwork has made me, truly, you are such a fantastic artist. Communication has been tough between us in the past, but I am always happy to hear what you have to say my foreign friend, and your English is golden, better than most Americans. *Trollface* It is a pleasure to call you a friend, and I wish you all the luck I can muster for your future, no matter what it is. I'm sorry I never got to use that picture you did for me, but I still love it and it's one of my most treasured possessions. For those who don't know what I am referring too, then take a look at a story that sadly never saw the light of day. Let it be an example though, of Hywther's amazing ability.

Ah, my favourite boy/girl person. You my friends are just as wonderful as Hywther, and criminally underrated in your ability. Your style is strangely unique, and my requests have always come out perfect because of you. You've done the picture for both the league and HTTYFYDAC, and for that, I am etternally grateful. I hope we can collaborate again in the future.

Oh, Booly, how I do adore you. You were one of the first to lend me assistance, and you taught me more than I'm willing to admit. I know I don't talk to you as much as I should, and for that I'm sorry, sometimes I just forget. But I don't forget what you've done for me, not for a minute. You will always be a friend. Also, if you need anymore help, hit me up with a message anytime. Also, are you sure you're not Spider-man? You look suspiciously like him.

Stupid engine keeps breaking not making me drive forward. But not any more! I shall do my part and continue through the terrain.

But I don't need a "thank you", in fact, I should thank you for writing interesting enough stories to hold my attention (however wandering) for any amount of time. Its always fun to converse and interact with talented artist of any skill; writing perhaps a bit more so than other.
