Holiday Sidestory · 5:02am Dec 8th, 2013
So, amid the rather... poor weather that's been hitting the northern US, I was struck by a bout of inspiration. Or mild delirium, depending on your point of view.
That's the funny thing about inspiration, though; I'm sitting here trying to draft out the next chapter of the Advent of Applejack, and what pops into my head? a holiday-themed sidestory. My muse has ADHD or something, I swear.
So, yes. I'm going to be writing a sidestory to the Irony of Applejack, set between it and AoA. So, basically, still between season 2 and 3 (no twilicorn or Crystal Empire, for example). Still not sure on the tags, but it'll probably be just Slice of Life and A/U (Note the lack of a romance tag for you non-shippers out in the audience, and that's something that's already been decided upon). It'll mostly focus on the Hearth's Warming Eve pageant that takes place few months after the conclusion of the Irony of Applejack, and will be split up into two halves; the first being released Christmas Eve (December 24th) and the finale being posted Christmas Day (December 25th). at least, that's my plan.
Consider it my Hearth's Warming present to you all for your love and support throughout this whole year. Hard to believe it's been that long already...
So until then, merry Hearth's Warming and a happy new year!
Yeah, I hear you. ADHD is a bitch.
Psh, who needs romance tags when you have shipping goggles?

Fair enough
I mean, look at my avatar. I practically have them built in!
I'm not sure why people even make these plans. Part 1 came out on the 26th; how's progress looking on the rest of it? Any chance we'll see it by New Year's Day?
I feel like I've been stalking you for a very long time so until there's a new chapter posted for something, I'll leave you alone.
You know how you said part 1&2 will be posted Christmas Eve and Christmas Day? I know how you said in the Author's note itself it might/will be split up in 3?
Well, here's the problem to your plan.
You posted the first chapter on the 26th. And with the holiday season almost over, there hasn't been another chapter since then.
Okay, now I really feel stalkish I'm going to leave it at that.
Not that I'm telling you to rush or anything!!!!!!!! Don't hate me!

I tried as hard as I could to stick to the deadline, but the one thing I didn't take into consideration was, well, the festivities of the holiday season. Kind of a silly thing to overlook, I know, but once my brother showed up, it became quite the chore trying to find a quiet place to write.
and I only missed Christmas Day by, like, 30 minutes! So it still counts!

Oki doki loki!
Be reading it shortly. Always interested in what you do with this universe.
If it makes you feel better, I'm still coming up with gifts for people. I still believe it's the thought that counts more than the season

Indeed. I just wish I'd thought more on what I was getting myself into. Hopefully next time I do a holiday special type deal, I'll have the foresight to write it out plenty in advance.

She tends to get bitchy when I tell her to do things.
Believe me when I say I can sympathize. It's ridiculous just how many ideas I have in my head that have yet to see the light of day (some of which predate MLP:FiM). The problem with having a muse that can invoke ideas for stories is that they can't actually fight writer's block. Though that is situational, since sometimes the muse can be specific enough to fight against writer's block, which is how a story can end up taking a life of its own and go in a completely different direction than you intended it to.
