Bad news, readers.
My story was rejected from Equestria Daily. Not because of content, but because they say that they are "closed on Warhammer." Pretty lame excuse. I sent a follow-up email pointing out that there are other crossovers with more stories than Warhammer, but they didn't care. At least they were polite about it.
However, in no way does this mean that I will cancel Courage and Honour and Friendship. I fully intend to keep it going strong, and possibly re-submit it later. I may not get a huge influx of readers that I was hoping for, but oh well. I still have my dignity. I will not go into a righteous rage and smite Equestria Daily as enemies of the Imperium. It's really their loss.
However, I do intend to submit Courage and Honour and Friendship to some groups on this site. Any recommendations?

That's a shame. I know EQD's a good source of viewers, but, speaking for myself, I don't really care about it. I just like being able to write my stories as is. Also, you have to realize that not everyone knows about Warhammer, just like how we can't really expect everyone to know about MLP. On the other hand, though, it's always nice to see battle-brother bronies around.
If anything, you should at least submit to the Crossovers group, if you haven't already.
Check my page and look at the groups "Warpony 3k" is submitted to. It's in 5 or 6.
Also, I agree. The "too many 40k" thing is really BS. There's what, 9 on this site? Add a couple for Google Docs and DeviantArt, and you get no more than 12. I brought this up in the "ask a prereader" a few months ago and the responses were "a huge amount of crappy ones otherwise unpublished" and "lol y r yu evan riteng this rofl. it haz nuthing to do w/ poni XD" (OK, maybe the last quote was a little exaggerated)
Bah, filthy heretics the lot of them, still knowingly lost within the bowels of the warp without the Emperor's guiding light. Listen not to their blasphemies and continue to fight as a true Imperial would. May the Emperor grant you a blessing in this time of disheartenment.
Sorry to hear that, your story certainly is high-quality enough to be EQD material. Nice to know you took the setback like a champ, though.

I fully realize that 40k is not as familiar as, say, Halo, but I still think that it was a worthwhile idea to submit to EqD. There are more "battle-brother bronies" out there than one would think. Also, thanks for the group suggestion.

Agreed. In my email to EqD, I specifically pointed out several other crossovers that have quite a few stories (Battletech, Portal, Doctor Who, etc.). Almost all of the 40k stories on EqD are either dead, are alternate-universe (40k with ponies copypasted in), or both. I definitely think that if the prereaders read my story, they would like it. Also, thanks for the group suggestions.

So much for love and tolerance. A true brony should not be "closed" to any other fandom. How can they ask for tolerance if they don't give it? It rings of hypocrisy to me. Continue forward in the name of the False-Emperor, lapdog!
My apologies, as I am one of the few that were in before they said "too many."
To be honest, it's overrated. Sure, lots of folks might see it, but the fraction of those that give any sort of useful feedback is far, far less than those who do so here. The EqD readership is, but for a few splendid exceptions, vapid and inane. When my story first debuted, the flood of comments I received excited me, right up until I realized almost none of them had even read my story yet. And once the "FIRST!"-chasers are done, there won't be hardly anyone left.
Another problem is that a couple of the 40k crossovers already there aren't that great. Nothing against them, but if they're going to place a limit, they might consider replacing some of the stories taking up those limited spots with ones of higher quality when they come around. For what it's worth, yours is one I'd consider for this.

There's only one other that's similar to your Fic but instead of the Ultramarines and Tyranids it has Blood Ravens and Orks.
I was actually thinking of writing a Warhammer/MLP fic myself and it would have the Blood Ravens and Necrons in it. (Tyranids are super scary but Necrons they're just terrifying as hell)
Though I need some advice on how to write certain things like how to describe fighting scenes, describe characters etc.
So if it's not to much to ask a little advice would help greatly.

EQD fanfiction section is shitty shit shit shit.
Everyone treats it like it's some sort of massive nexus for fanfic views and when people get their stuff rejected from the site, they start to go on a downward spiral of "O goddum my contetn is behd. Deletin." While EQD may give you 25% more views than normal ( or more, I don't really care ) it's still supposed to be used as a news site rather than as a FANFIC APPRECIATION site. It's really stupid, IMO.
While I'm at it, I'd like to say that most of the stories posted in there are horribly paced ( Sluggish ) and they tend to have boring topics, such as endless repetitive ZxY or maybe some dumb stuff about carrots that nobody even cares about. Don't worry dude. Your fanfic is top shelf.

EqD as many good thing things going for it, fan-fiction is not one of them. It is to hard to get in and almost impossible to use.
That excuse they gave seems like a load of zog. Don't thank them for being polite. Well, actually, yes, do that, it makes you the better man. But they should just come out and say why. Do the people at EQD not like Warhammer (40K)? Do they not like your story in particular? I think your story has flaws. The biggest is that it doesn't feel like the actual Warhammer 40K universe without the raging xenophobia of the space marines. But I still follow it, as it is ALMOST the best 40K fic on this entire sight. The only thing better is By the Emperor's Grace" and "O.i.E.", but the latter is such a different take on the idea that it's hard to compare them. None of this changes how EQD's excuse is full of holes, and it's an insult to you to give it.
