AFCP will be delayed

Three hours ago I touched down in LAX airport California.
Home at last.

Ten minutes ago I got home from the memorial service of an 8 year old girl.
Home at last.

Ashley and her younger brother were walking home from school yesterday when they were both hit by a car. Her brother made it, she didn't.

I knew Ashley from church and from my writing. As some of you know, when writing a character's voice I try to model their speech pattern off of real people.

For the character of "Waffle Cone" from AFCP I chatted with more then ten girls ages 6-9 to get a feel for what she would sound like.

Among my cousins and church family, Ashley was one of them.

I am comfortable in the knowledge that she's in a better place now. But today when I sat down to type, all I could hear was her voice and I started bawling.

I'm not canceling the story, just taking a little break. I hope you'll understand.
