I said I was going to post a blog for this, and just haven't done it until now.
Anyway, there are a couple of different directions this fic can go, and I'm not really sure where it'll be going yet, but if you give me some feedback on this, I'll definitely do it the most popular way.
For those of you that have not seen the movie; the ending is the ultimate irony, but I won't ruin it for you.
For those of you who haven't read the book/story; There are a few differences, such as the ending being rather happy and a sex scene (only examples).
The movie is a bit more graphic and grotesque, especially in the Pharmacy. While I'm going to be making up some of my own creatures to attack the ponies, somethings from the story/movie will be used.
So the question is;
Would you like a clop scene between some of the characters. It does not necessarily have to be the main one, like it is in the book.
Would you like the movie ending; For those of you who haven't seen it, I hope that it will pull some heart strings. But I can make up a different ending.
So, suggestions?
First off, don't you even THINK about killing the rest of the Mane 6.
Second, if, for some reason, you do end up killing any more of the Mane 6, Fluttershy HAS TO LIVE. If she doesn't, with Celestia as my witness, I will find out where you live, and I will make you pay.
And now, for the real suggestions. First, for the little cult that springs up in the pharmacy, Trixie should totally be the cult leader. Let's face it, she's the sort of charismatic, show-off-y, slightly disturbed pony that would make a cult that eventually turns against the protagonists, and she already has support in the form of Snips and Snails. In desperate times, people and ponies look for a leader, and Trixie would be more than willing to take that role.
Second, the Royal Guard. The beasts came through from a doorway to another dimension, and the military is involved. Seeing as the Royal Guard is about the closest thing Equestria has to a military, they are the only logical choice for that role.
Next, the pharmacy itself. The only reason any of them were able to survive the mist until the military cleaned up its mess was because the pharmacy had goods and supplies enough to sustain them. Ponyville, however, doesn't have a pharmacy, only an open-air marketplace. The closest thing they have would be Sugarcube Corner, I suppose, and it wouldn't be much of a leap to say that Pinkie Pie had hidden some other goods useful for this type of situation there. After all, she has hidden stashes of balls and eye patches just about everywhere. Of course, you would have to do something about the swing-open doors, but that shouldn't be too difficult.
Finally, the ending itself. I haven't read the book, but the movie ending is all together incompatible with the nature of our ponies. For anypony that hasn't seen the movie, I won't spoil it, but for those that have, you know what I mean. It simply doesn't fit with our protagonists. You're going to have to come up with something on your own, or, if you want, we could collab and work something out. Believe me, I would be only to happy to work with you on this. Especially if it means I can keep you from doing anything to Fluttershy...
Overall, this is a very interesting concept, and I can't wait to see it played out. Although, if you're going to insert a clop scene, do those of us that are against that stuff a favor and mark the chapter as being the clop scene chapter, and don't group it with anything that would be important to the story. Other than that, good luck!
