King Sombra was an alicorn · 3:28am Nov 26th, 2013
So, I was re-watching the season four premier, when something odd caught my eye.
In that picture, Twilight is using alicorn magic. Now, where have we seen that exact same color scheme and bubbly texture in magic before?
Eeyup, on the horn of King Sombra. Now, as for why we never saw a pair of wings on the king, he always would have had them covered. Like so:
So, yeah, I'm pretty sure King Sombra was an alicorn. Thoughts?
interesting point. when i saw her using the Sombra magic i was also confused. I had always assumed that it was merely "dark magic". Supporting your theory is the point that Sombra can turn into mist like Nightmare Moon. However if that is alicorn magic; how did Twilight use it as a unicorn to open Sombra's door?

I suppose I should have mentioned that this was a repost and I was just trying to spread the theory. Here is the original.
Pretty sure they were just reusing effects in Princess Twilight Sparkle. They specifically refer to Sombra as a unicorn in the season they decided to make alicorn canon, and that magic effect wasn't used to represent alicorn magic in Twilight's Kingdom.

Extreme laziness is always the correct answer.
