I felt bad that the RariDash Nightmare Night contest didn't have more entries (it had a whopping three or four this afternoon) so I decided to write a story for the contest.
Nothing like writing a 5.4k word story in a single day, though admittedly I came up with the idea a couple days ago when I heard that the contest had a rather meager number of entries.
Incidentally, the story originally had a slightly longer ending, which I wasn't sure whether or not to include. Spoilers follow, as I decided not to include it, but it still probably totally happened.
"Somepony should have closed their window," Applejack remarked, wincing slightly at the sound of Rarity's high-pitched squealing. "That girl sure has a set of lungs." She paused, blinking and looking back at Pinkie Pie, who had sat down in the street a short distance from the boutique, her head tilted to the side. "Uh, sugar cube, shouldn't we get going?"
Pinkie Pie shook her head. "Oh no, it's alright, I left it open on purpose. I just wanted to make sure I didn't have to change the banner after I made it."
