A real scary experience. · 2:13am Nov 1st, 2013
Since it's Halloween. I thought I would share one of the scariest times of my life.
There was a friend I made who I became deathly afraid of. At first we got along great and had a lot of common interest in pokemon and movies. But then he changed suddenly when the subject of religion came up. I told him I was an atheist and then became extremely determined to proselytize to me. At first it was annoying and I tried to just endure his lectures and go back to normal topics but after a while he started to threaten me.
He pulled out a toy gun and told me it was real and started to hold on to it constantly while he continued spouting about his religion and his delusions of being destined to be the future pope. I started to get quite afraid of hanging out with him especially after he offered to lend me a game I had wanted to play for years called Eternal Darkness for the gamecube. For the first night I played the game he was staying the night was going on constantly about how he believes everything in the game is literal truth and it was a game about demons and hell.
In addition he kept going on about conspiracy theories about the triangle of Red, Green, Blue that so often appears in popular media. Such as the pokemon Charmander, Squirtle and Bulbasaur.
Now imagine how much scarier the game was when I was playing it with a religious fanatic. After that night I tried to avoid him and come up with excuses about why I couldn't have him over, obviously scared of outright telling him to buck off.
Then for about 3 weeks he disappeared from college (As we went to school together) and when he returned he told me how he had been institutionalized by his mother after he got really violent with her and went crazy with his self important delusions.
I suppose that he was released from there and is now on medication might make him stable, but I sure never want to see him again. My main fear was that he knew where I lived and a few times he showed up to chat and seemed much better. But I am now relieved that I am in a different town and will never see him again.
I bet he wouldn't take the brony thing well now either, despite how similar it is to the pokemon fandom.
In contrast, my scariest moment was the first time I was about to lose a game of "The Floor is Lava".
that red blue green thing is me. sorry... yeah... nothing sinister, its just me marking my territory.
i used to pee on stuff but then i took to asparagus and people got wise.
... yeah
You know, this is the worrying part about living in a country that has strong religious grounds, that being fanatics.
Religious fanatics, no matter what religion, damage others view of said religion and in some cases, the country that supports or is supported by the religion.
That must have been a really bad experience for you... don't want to sound like a jerk or anything (espesialy after what you've been through), but I'm really glad I live in a country where religion isen't a big deal, thus very small chance of this crap happening.
