Word Count

I won't pretend that I understand what the hell goes on with the word count on this site. On GDocs, it tells me that I have 4842, which is not the 5000 I want per chapter for the story I'm writing. If I replace all the dashes, hyphens, brackets, slashes and apostrophes with spaces, it still only gives me 4999, literally as close to my goal as possible while being under. I've got a new story submitted to the Automated Submitter Machine (C), and hopefully I've made this one more obviously pony so it passes moderation.

The basis of the story is that the Mane Six are paragons of their chosen field of battle in an alternate, dark, high fantasy universe. It was inspired by Dungeons and Ponies, but is not a remake of episodes one and two. Instead, it explores how petty the problems the antagonists of the show cause are when compared to the overall danger of the Nightmare (under the name of the Dark One). Expect many antagonists, such as Gilda, Flim and Flam, and Blueblood to make an appearance as protagonists. Well, mostly.
