Why my friends think I have problems.

Today it occurred to me that the first response I usually get when I tell someone about a story I'm writing or someone reads something of mine is either 'You're a strange child' or 'Have you seen a therapist?'.

Most of my stories aren't complete yet, so aren't on here, but so far I'm writing about:
    -Schizophrenia
    -Multiple Personality Disorder
    -A mental asylum
    -A psychopathic murderer

Why my friends think I have problems. · 6:50pm Oct 3rd, 2013

-Self harm and suicide
-Going crazy
-Brainwashing
-The destruction of earth
And all of these are separate stories!

So I guess it got me thinking about why I write about such topics, and I came to several conclusions, so here, learn some stuff about me :)
1) I have a deep rooted interest in Psychology and Psychological disorders. Authors are often inspired by things they find interesting, so it makes sense that I would write about mental illnesses because I like researching them and want to work with people who have them.
2) I have psychopathic traits. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a psychopath (not that there's anything wrong with that, as long as you use it productively) but I do score fairly higher than the majority of people on the psychopath test. This is due to something wrong in my brain which means I lack the ability to feel empathy. This means I can write about and research things others would find distressing without being affected by it. Also, writing about dark or disturbing or criminal things is an outlet for the psychopathic side of me that I wouldn't be able to physically express (I'm not confident enough to be a ruthless business woman and murder is illegal).
3) I can't write humour. And I'm not great at romance either. Or adventure. So sad and depressing is all I have left to turn to.

Hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about me, and you can now all look forward to some crazy/depressing/disturbing stories from me :)

Hugs and sparkles!
