    Oh god

So about 11 in the morning I had to go to the hospital because the medicine I was taking was absolutely not helping me at all. It was 11 in the morning, and I just got back.

I feel that since I came on the old FimFics I've been a dick. And so I'm sorry If I have been. I'll try to do that Skyrim livestream I said I'll do a while ago.

Discussion Blog: Is the English language getting changed? · 8:34pm Sep 29th, 2013

So you know how that when you're on the Interwebz or if you're texting people always say "u" instead of "you" and "r" instead of "are?" Well I've seen people in real life actually talk like this or write like this or whatever. I know kids who put "r" instead of "are" in reports or stories they have to write. In fact, even some of my family members do it. Its almost like the English language is getting changed. What do you think of this?

It's bad because we lose the roots of our language this way. Language should be enriching themselves, not impoverishing.

that is all :pinkiecrazy:

If you've ever read the book 1984, then this was pretty much where the English language is heading. Except in the book, this new version of English (I forget what it was actually called) was headed by the government to increase productivity, this will most likely have the same effect.

But ever since its dawn into the series of world languages, English was made to change, it is a force of change in and of itself, and its roots go very far back, and into several other languages and nationalities.

Granted that the recent expansion of the English language compared to other languages is fascinating, there is simply no reason for this simplification because if something like the works of Shakespeare or Homer (the Greek poet) would be given the same treatment, much of the work and effort that they put into their writing would be lost. :fluttercry: In addition, kids would have no reason to challenge themselves and would become complacent shitbags who would never challenge the world and society around them. Also, spell check exists, so people have even less of an excuse to do this crap. :flutterrage:

1383846 The new language in 1984 is appropriately called "Newspeak" :raritywink:

Languages evolve. That's why we have more than one in the first place. It's neither good nor bad. It's simply the way of things.
