Music to help me write about Apocalyptic Rock Monsters · 5:52pm Sep 28th, 2013
I like listening to MLP inspired music when I'm formulating the stories I write in my head. I downloaded a number of songs from Bandcamp and SoundCloud, I like to listen to a lot of the popular artists like the Aviators, Mandopony, Megaphoric, Alex S., The Living Tombstone, along with some lesser known artists like Socratic Brony (love "A Dance of Fire and Beauty"!).
I got to meet Caramel & Dot at EQLA early this year, they're way cool and super nice. They're the artists that wrote and recorded "Cloudchaser (In My Heart)". I keep thinking about how I can put Cloudchaser in a story, right I'm working on a fic where she helps fight an air battle in a hurricane. Hopefully Caramel and Dot will approve, I'll have to ask them.
The song "I'll Be Waiting (Derpy's Song) by Mandopony (got to see him in concert at EQLA too) was a big influence on how I portrayed Derpy in "Darklight". The song really got me in the feels, and I wanted to give her a chance to be a real hero.
"For the New Lunar Republic" by Carbon Maestro is something that I listen to a lot, especially when I'm trying to work on exciting parts of "Darklight". The song "Voyager" and the songs from "Derpy and Carrot Top's Epic Adventure" work great too, and I keep thinking about the Village of the Moon when I hear "Zebra Tribes".
There's some great pony music out there. I'm not talented enough to add anything to it: I can't sing that well, and I only know how to play the Tuba.
Anypony need a Tuba in your pony band?
