I finally got around to publishing something [link]!
Took me a while to get all the pieces together, but I'm happy with the result. Huge thanks to JetGrey and Teal-Tome for doing some proof reading for me.
Well... that was short...
I suppose I can recommend something than to make this post a bit longer...
If you're looking for a good read, The Lunar Rebellion is very addictive. I started reading it thinking I'd be able to put it down to get one of the other dozen things I had to do that day, but as a testament to how amazing it is, I just couldn't put it down. I was compelled to get caught up with the story no matter the cost. I hardly think I could give a higher form of praise to any story.
Now, on to the details. The story is centered around Shadow Kicker, the matriarch of the Kicker clan in Pegasopolis one hundred years after the banishment of Nightmare Moon. Equestria is still dealing with the loss of one of it's rulers, and problems seem to keep surfacing. Celestia is currently doing her best to lead the three tribes as the head of each government (and yes, they're all still separate though they are bound as allies), but the disadvantages of this system are becoming apparent as problems arise when conflict between tribes occurs.
As the story progresses, it is becoming clear that some are less satisfied with Celestia's rule than others. Discontent brews and conflict arises as the situation comes to a boil. Parties on all sides seem to know what's coming, but no one seems to be able to stop it.
The story itself is written in the form of a memoir being edited by an outside party (highly likely that Cloud Kicker is editing with Twilight Sparkle co-editing), so while being written in first person from the perspective of Shadow, there are occasional editor's notes from Cloud clarifying aspects of history or adding commentary when she feels it's required.
A fantastic read that's still in the opening stages of it's narrative. The memoir is divided into three sections, and it seems as if the first section is coming to a rapid close. Don't let the word count deter you, it's well worth the time spent reading.
That's it for this blog post. Hopefully I'll have a new story to post within a month, but as I'm job hunting for after graduation, delays might occur. Until next time, good reading.
