Whoo, I'm 30 as of about... 3 and a half hours from the time of this blog post.
I'm 30 with a back injury that I may never recover from, being paid a pittance of what I ought to be, with no benefits. I have to work a 10 hour shift tomorrow in this condition, and then I get to come home to an empty house, because my roommate will be in friggin' Vermont with a friend of his for work-related bunk.
... Can I have that portal to Equestria now? please?
... ... ... please? I swear I'll be good... just... please...
I... I'll have the NaPoWriMo post up tomorrow... at some point...

Current theory is that it's massive muscle strain. Left side, lower back, around the kidney. I've tried heat, I've tried ice, baths, showers, I've damn near overdosed on painkillers to dull the pain at points...
And I can't afford a doctor visit, I don't have medical insurance (and the place I work for is too small to offer it)... yeah, I'm rather doomed.
Happy birthday, space-man. Here's hoping you recover. Though I must ask how you injured your back.

As I mentioned to Aquaman up there, I think it's massive muscle strain. I went to bed Sunday night on the 8th for work, woke up on Monday morning feeling like I got punched in the kidneys. And it only got worse as the day went on. Tuesday, I couldn't move without screaming and I had to call into work. It hasn't really improved since then.

Trust me, I remember THAT pain well. It's not a kidney stone. I once actually caused them in myself back in college from drinking pretty much nothing but four liters of Mountain Dew a day during college.
