Easter Update

Alrighty then. I actually have a couple updates that I want to mention.

For those of you who are actually following me and paying attention to my FanFic, The Dark Defender, you've noticed that I haven't been updating. This blog post is to basically let everypony know that I am still alive and I haven't given up on my fic or anything like that. Those of you who have read the most recent chapter, that being Chapter 2, you know that I was planning on making a 1 shot fic based off of Dax's backstory and what happened to her parents.

And that's where my 1st update comes in. I'm putting allot of effort into that while at the same time trying to overcome some minor cases of writer's block. Not only that, but I've been working on other projects as well, which is also consuming time. So my 1st update is partly a request for help. Writing Dax's backstory is taking up time, so I wanted to ask my fans; would you rather wait until I'm done with Dax's backstory before updating, or would you rather I work on her backstory on the side and just continue with The Dark Defender?

My 2nd update has to do with a recent idea I came up with. Perhaps you've seen (or at least heard of) the music video on YouTube known as Rainbow Factory. I was considering maybe making a FanFic based off of that song. And I know what you're all probably thinking. "But there was already a FanFic based off of Rainbow Factory. So if you make a FanFic, you'll just be copying that fic." All I have to say about those of you who are think that is "Nuh uh!" I've already taken that into consideration. I've read (or rather, I listened to a reading of) the FanFic of Rainbow Factory. And for starters, my story will have a different plot. Secondly, my story will be a full fic (well, maybe a little shorter than average) rather than just being a 1 shot. And lastly is where the key difference comes into play. My fic is going to be a musical fic, to give it more of a My Little Pony feel, with the singing (of course my story will be allot darker than what My Little Pony was meant to be). I will be using Rainbow Factory (of course) and other fan made songs. Of course I will be getting their permission before I use the songs.

I'm planning on making my Rainbow Factory fic eventually anyway. But I want your feedback on the idea. It will help me to determine whether I make it along side of The Dark Defender, or if I should wait until after I finish The Dark Defender. And if my musical fic is a success, I may do others as well.
