    Passing Starstruck on to Curran

I found myself spending the last month completely overwhelmed, and I couldn't dedicate the proper time to bringing Starstruck to a proper conclusion on my own end. I've already had it written, it just needed to be proofed then uploaded to FimFiction, so the core of the work is already complete. Chapter 11 coming Tomorrow

Curran and I have gotten the majority of chapter 11 done for Starstruck (it's flirting around 17k words), so after a final proofreading pass it should be going up for your weekend reading enjoyment.

Passing Starstruck on to Curran · 5:44am Aug 25th, 2013

I found myself spending the last month completely overwhelmed, and I couldn't dedicate the proper time to bringing Starstruck to a proper conclusion on my own end. I've already had it written, it just needed to be proofed then uploaded to FimFiction, so the core of the work is already complete. The issue, though, was simply timing, and the fact that some later chapters written earlier needed to be reworked to be in parity with what we had. Unfortunately, the time to make these changes was beyond my capability as my free time crashed to pretty much zero.

Truth be told, when I started writing Starstruck, I was unemployed. My friends didn't want to hang out much as they were all out getting married or moving out of state or in one case totally betraying my trust (but I digress, can't call that person a friend in the first place now that I know why they wanted my company; that opportunistic entrepreneurial failure guilt-tripping me with the "but I'm your friend" for free art for their website). When Starstruck began, I had a ton of free time, too much of it actually, and the thought of "let's spend a few hours tonight writing My Little Pony Fanfiction" felt like a great way to waste away another uneventful evening instead of a diversion from pursuing an actual career.

But things have changed in the last couple months, and changed very much for the better. Well, better for me, afraid I can't say the same for my dear readers (or the few of you still hanging on). I got a job, and it went so well, I went ahead and got myself another job. So I now work two jobs; one in software, and the other as a freelance comic artist. My development in both fields is excelling, but as my life evolves in such positive directions, I have to remember that I only have so many hours in a day, and only so many calories my brain can burn before devouring itself. Sacrifices had to be made, and the long nights pecking away at Starstruck was one of the first ones on the chopping block. I'd dabble with it whenever I got the opportunity, usually when a freelance client fell through or I finished well ahead of schedule on a comic project, but the amount of time I spent with Starstruck in 2013 is probably a tenth of what I spent in the year previous.

If even.

It only seems fair that I let you guys know the full reasoning of why I'm no longer updating it, and it's not a very glorious or uplifting tale either. It's the one we've all heard many times before; life happened, my time diminished, I put my career over a fan fiction of a little girls' cartoon. But remember how I said earlier, long time ago, that the story was already done?

That is true.

The story has been done for months, it just needed polishing and a last sweep of nitpicking. Curran is going to be handling that, and he will be the one posting it under this account in the future. Please make a note to be kind to him, definitely feel free to send any constructive crits you're compelled to send, and enjoy the conclusion of Starstruck over the next couple weeks.

The last chapter is going to be entirely him. We know how it's going to end...well, I've shared my thoughts with him many times before. But I trust his ability to bring it together, and however he chooses fit to bring Devon's sojourn to a close is a choice I will support 100%.

Unless it was all a dream.

Curran, if you end it with "it was all a dream" I am quitting my job and living in a van to rewrite the last chapter myself.

I remember when you first posted Starstruck. The first thing that stuck out to me was the cover art, because it was pretty awesome, and it seems you've nabbed a job as a freelance artist. Good on you.

Glad to hear that you're doing better in the job market. If it were me, I'd capitalize on that as much as I could, and it seems you've already made that decision as well. Good luck to you, and remember to have fun with your jobs (within reason)!

Pfffft...just a dream!

As if!

As long as it isn't down by the river, I think you'll be okay. (Bonus points if anyone gets that one!)

But yeah, saying that is going to make him write an alt. joke ending, and you know it!

Just want to say this story has been nothing but fucking amazing so far. Thank you for this awesome roller coaster of win of a story! Hopefully one day we'll see you around again!
