Hello there everypony. Or, at least, everypony that reads this. Just wanted to say a little something about the story I posted yesterday (though it probably appears to be earlier today due to the moderation process). I was happily surprised to find that several of you like the first chapter, and I plan to do my best to keep the quality of writing high. On that note, special thanks to Pen Pal for being my main editor.

So, the first chapter of Sun and Moon was started about a week before the first episode of season two aired. I had gotten the idea based off of the intro to the season one starter, and had already gotten to about my third draft. Well, as most of you know, episode one of season two threw me a curve ball in the form of Discord. My original 'big bad' as the trope goes was nothing like him. Of course, looking back, Discord makes a much more fun character, even if he is much harder to properly write and characterize. For a few months I simply sat on the draft of Sun and Moon I had at the time, waiting to see how popular Discord would be.

Well, he's pretty popular I'd say. Far more popular than Nightmare Moon was from season one. So I had to figure out how to write Discord into the story and, more importantly, to put him in the 'big bad' spot. Of course, he does not appear in part one and, spoiler, will not appear in part two. Which begs the question as to why I withheld chapter one when it was not directly effected by the inclusion and re-writing of the main villain.

The inclusion of Discord did force me to re-write a large part of the plot. I would not say that the plot changed significantly. It merely grew longer than I had anticipated it being. As a reference, I had originally planned to do this as a three chapter story, which is not possible unless parts two and three are extremely long. And for those of you curious, you will get to see my original big bad, fulfilling a very similar role to the original one. But before I deviate from the topic too much I should note that my re-write of the plot line did alter part one, and highly altered my plans for part two. In essence, I had to salvage part one and am starting from scratch with part two.

Basically, I wanted to let everypony know that it might be awhile before part two is completed and explain why. I would hate to leave anypony wondering whether or not I am going to continue if it takes longer than even I think it will. I'd expect part two to be done in a few weeks, maybe less. But I will not promise that. Also, expect more Luna in part two.

And, as a question, how long would you like me to make each part? Part one is a bit light, at least to me, and is only about four thousand five hundred words. I was thinking maybe six thousand or somewhere around there? I just do not want to make them too wordy or confusing, which is why I ask.
