The Ensemble of "Team Trixie" · 1:50am Jul 8th, 2013
At the conclusion of Outlaw Mares II, we saw that the changeling Zeeps joined what Trixie liked to refer to as "Team Trixie". The group dynamic has been pretty strong and the addition of the 4th member added a good bit of interesting humor. I had the four-pony dynamic planned out in the middle of writing the first Outlaw Mares story, but Zeeps was not mentioned in my previous ensemble cast post because it would have spoiled the surprise. Also, the way the first story was structured, it required a complete rewrite if I wanted to add Zeeps in at that time. Our funny little changeling had to wait for her debut until the second story.
Here was how my notes read on the matter of the four-pony dynamic, as well as their possible "Friendship Element"~
Trixie [The Optimist, Element of Magic]
Usually serves as team leader. Common traits: Brave, Determined, Motivator. Faults: Headstrong, Big ego, Lack of forethought in planning.
Ellie [The Realist, Element of Kindness]
Usually serves as the mediator. Common traits: Empathetic, Adaptable, Objective. Faults: Skittish, Soft-spoken, Dislikes bending/breaking the rules.
Cheryl [The Cynic, Element of Honesty]
Usually serves to put things in perspective. Common traits: Street-smart, Practical, Strength. Faults: Snarker, Lacks empathy, Antagonizes.
Zeeps [The Enigma, Element of Loyalty]
Usually serves as the assistant/support. Common traits: Agreeable, Acting skills, Quick study. Faults: Unusual culture, Silly, Amoral
Now, I haven't decided to add two more characters to make a "Mane Six" team yet. If I did, they'd probably supporting members because four is usually my maximum comfort zone for writing a team-based scene. Of course, something might come up later in my head so I think it'll remain one of those ideas that will be open until the next story gets underway.
