Top Ten Mares

This just might be my hardest list of all because there's no end to the number of mares I could include, narrowing it down to the ten best needless to say wasn't easy. But hey since when have top ten lists ever been easy?

10. The Mayor a.k.a Mayor Mare
Well at the least you can't say her tenure has been boring. I mean seriously look at all the things that have happened in Ponyville since Twilight moved in. There's never a dull moment and The Mayor's been through a lot in her tenure, including being overthrown and imprisoned. Kind of makes me wonder if she'll ever step down.

9. Spitfire
The Wonderbolts Captain takes her job seriously and she does her best to ensure The Wonderbolts legacy and reputation isn't tarnished. She might seem a little bossy but most of the time she's laid back and easy going, and she's likely a straight mare to Soarin's antics.

8. Granny Smith
She's seen a lot in her time and she's been through a lot. She's seen Ponyville when it was brand new and she's seen it in it's current condition. She's seen the best and worst Ponyville has to offer and she's seen plently of good and bad moments. And of course there's no end to the amount of knowledge she has to offer and recently she's been more then happy to pass on some of it to Apple Bloom and Applejack.

7. Cheerilee a.k.a Miss Cheerilee
Big Macintosh's latest marefriend and a really cheerful and snarky teacher. Cheerilee does her best to ensure the colts and fillies under her supervision have the tools for success. Not to mention she called Big Macintosh "Sugar Bear", the perfect nickname for the guy. I must say Cheerimac is ship that I'm sure no one ever thought of prior to "Hearts and Hooves Day".

6. Mrs. Cake a.k.a Cup Cake
The proud mother of adorable twins and a potential surrogate mother for Pinkie Pie Mrs. Cake seems to handle stress a little better then her husband who seems prone to fainting. She seems to be rather sweet, if a bit plump but she's a fine mare and much like her husband might be younger then she looks. She's appeared a few times more often then her husband so it's probably not unnatural to assume she usually greets the costumers.

5. Princess Luna
Despite having fans who refuse to see any wrong in her Princess Luna is a very impressive mare and one of the two rulers of Equestria. She's the yang to her sister's yin and though she might be a bit more anger prone then her sister she's still a ruler that other leaders should strive to be. Her role in "Sleepless in Ponyville" was amazing and I hope we'll see her play more roles like that in Season 4. No more pointless fan service, scenes actually have her do something.

4. Princess Celestia
She's the yin to her sister's yang and of course she makes for quite the motherly figure. She took Cadence in after she became an alicorn, tried to help her sister overcome her dark side as well as help her heal afterwards, and she guided Twilight on her destiny. She's without a doubt the best ruler I've ever seen even though she's not perfect and I wish more world leaders could strive to be like her. Hopefully in Season 4 Celestia will play more importat roles like her sister.

3. Princess Cadence
The adopted niece of Princess Celestia and the rightful ruler of the Crystal Empire Cadence is young and cheerful but she also knows when to be serious. She was an excellent foal sitter as a teenager and she has a cute nursery rhyme/secret hoofshake with Twilight. There's currently a rumor flying around about Princess Skyla who's suppose to be Cadence's daughter but Hasbro hasn't said anything about her and supposedly her toy hasn't popped up.

2. Derpy Hooves
The mascot of the Brony Fandom and the background character that fans have done the most with. She's had a ton of fan made comics, videos, and tumblers. No matter what happens she'll always be welcome in the hearts and minds of bronies everywhere. Supposedly there's a hint of her return in Season 4 but we'll have to wait and see.

1. The mane six
Yes I know it's cheating to put all six of them at number 1 but let's be honest if I tried to rank them seperately on this list they'd take all the top spots and that would never do. Please refer to my "Mane Seven Ranking" to see how I rank them and Spike.
