Why MacInDash Makes Sense To Me

When you think about it, and I mean really think about it, the outcome seems premeditated. It seems as though it was bound to happen, as though they were destined to mean this much to each other. Sure, the shallow glance will have you stumbling over your hooves in shock, a bull-headed, fast Pegasus like her with a strong and silent Earth pony. --My thoughts:3

We start off with Rainbow Dash; self-proclaimed fastest flier in Equestria, the only known Pegasus to successfully perform a Sonic Rainboom, not once, but twice, and the Element of Loyalty. She is comfortable in her sexuality, oozing confidence, and very quick to prove herself to anypony. This mare lives for the thrill, always keeping her rainbow-mane’d head in the clouds she loves.
Next we have the most eligible bachelor stallion in Ponyville, Big MacIntosh; truth be told, we don’t know much about the colt. He’s quiet, but it doesn’t seem to be because he’s stupid or slow, more that he doesn’t waste his words. Brother to AppleJack and Apple Bloom, he works on the farm, with the strength of ten stallions is his to wield. Not a very social type, but only because he’s not the most gabby of ponies.

Now, let’s look at the compare and contrast—
They both are loyal to their friends and family. Big Mac’s always keeping an eye out for his sisters, and Dash always has her girls’ backs.
Both are tough.
While Dash is a fast Pegasus, Big Mac is literally a down-to-Earth pony.
Both of them seem to put on an air of stubbornness, though different types; Dash is outwardly stubborn, using a loud voice to convince you she’s right, while Big mac will probably gently guide you to see he knows what he’s saying
.
Moving on to my next point, the reasons I see them together.
Rainbow Dash is probably always getting caught up in rude, trashy bad boys, stemming from daddy issues, hence the need to always prove she can do anything. Based on her attitude, her childhood was full of neglect. She has never had to put work into relationships, simply because none of the ones she’s had were anything but physical. Dash would have to have a stallion who provided a safe haven for her. She wouldn’t need to be strong for him, but he would know she was. Since she was so brash and outspoken, she would need a colt who could stand up to her without taking control of her, somepony who wouldn’t mince words, who just says things to say them (not that this particular trait is bad, mind you!). Dash needs a stallion who can keep her down to Earth, being gentle enough with her that she knows he cares, but tough enough to show the extent of it.
Big MacIntosh is a gentle colt through-and-through, but feels he doesn’t have the time to get caught up in romance just yet. He’ll no doubt say he sees a family in his future, a house full of his own fillies and colts. The only problem in this fantasy is he honestly doesn’t have an interest in any mare at the moment, much to the chagrin of a few fillies in town. Sure, he feels physically attracted to a few, but, like his pappy always says, “you gotta be able to put your heart into it.” He’ll need a mare who can keep with him, one who he’ll want to protect, even though he’s aware she won’t need him to. He’d need somepony who was candid and free to show him there was life beyond apples.

Both could rely on each other, could bring out the best and accept the worst.
They are opposites, but so alike they mesh well.

Aaaaand THAT is the reason I like this couple.

Much more, but it's 10:38 and this pegasister be ready to hit the HAY.
