    Beginnings and Endings.

Hello. I still, inexplicably, get attention here. Not sure why. I don't go on Fimfiction, or write ponyfics anymore--I do however, write original fiction, yay!--or really do anything pony related. Don't consider myself a brony, though ponies are always cute, and stuff.

Not being written at 6AM, but I am tired, hungry, upset, and unmedicated. So it's close enough to my usual conditions for analysis blogs.

What schools of thought govern you? i.e. Your Philosophies, and religions. · 4:45am May 18th, 2013

Just whatever applies, for example, I'm an (Empirical)Agnostic, Expressivist Nihilist.

Don't worry if you don't really know all the names for the various terms, feel free to just describe it if that's what you are comfortable with.

Discussion is allowed, but any straight up bashing will result in deleted comments and relative disappointment.

Agnostic Orthodox since i lean to the Christian side but i hate Chatolics still i have no fucking idea if there is a god

I am an atheist, am very slightly misanthropic, but apart from that, I don't really know :/

The only thing I can add for certain is that I am Agnostic... That's about it.

Potatosithist(aka agnostic) and I never really cared about what my philosophy to life is called.

Ethic of Reciprocity (the Golden Rule)
Atheism
Scientific Theory
Existential Nihilism

More or less... :duck:

I really don't know anymore, I don't like the vast majority of twisted Christians, and the same applies to Athiests.

As for philosophy, I follow Jean Luc Picard for advice.

Balance. I'm very rational, and tend to stay on the fence between two arguments, for purposes of mediation. As a result, there is an annoyingly low amount of things that I actually have an opinion on :trixieshiftleft: Still, it works for me, so whatever.

Atheist.
Moral and existential Nihilist.
Slightly left wing
Other than that, its situational.

I don't have a core belief. Don't follow any religion, really. My morals and schools of thought are formed by me and my experiences. I'm always adapting new things too, as what I thought was a certain way back in the middle of the ocean in 2008 isn't what I think nowadays, here at home.

I initially operate out of passion and emotion, but turn to logic and reason to all final/important decisions. Piss me off, and I'll fly off the handle, even if I don't mean to, and even if I have my heart in the right place, which I hope is always the case. But for most things, I keep an open mind, and will accept things if you give me a valid argument with actual facts, and not opinions (case in point: I will watch the second half of season 7 of Doctor Who, even though everyone says a lot of the episodes are bad and I shouldn't watch them. If I don't watch them, then how will I know for myself if it's actually bad? Same principle for TNA wrestling).

As for politics, fuck politics with a rusty razor bladed dildo. I'm not bashing anyone's political views, and if you think I am, I apologize. I just can't do politics, because I don't want to deal with politics. I want to deal with government and country-wide issues, not 'play the game' to keep people happy.

For philosophy, I think it's safe to say I follow my own. That's all I'll say on that, because idk if anyone wants to read my ramblings. :twilightsheepish:

I'm a pessimistic bastard of an atheist.

hmm, I'm an atheist inclined agnostic who has an appreciation for buddhism and the church of the flying spaghetti monster, with occasional dabblings in philosophy, though mostly due to mild depression. I tend to swing from living in the moment to depression about the future, with slight smatterings of boredom almost constantly. god life is dull.

1088893

god life is dull.

It's moments like this where you need to just man up... and get yourself a flamethrower.

1088949 oh america, how I envy your gun laws

And I will not disappoint the Trixie. Well I don't know any kind of fancy terms for it but I just take what makes sense to me and apply it. I can also think up some weird reasoning for conflicting thoughts too. Believing in ghosts and reincarnation for a start. Basically I'm kind of like Spike, with his Noble Dragon Code. He saw the way his species were and he didn't like it, so he decided to become the change. I simply try to be the best person I can be for all the people I meet.

I didn't think I would find the actual term for it but your link to agnosticism had it. I am 100% apathetic agnostic. I don't know whether or not there is a god and honestly don't care in the least. I live my life and leave whether or not there is an afterlife for if that happens. There's probably other stuff too but that's all I can think of, though apathy runs through alot of the philosophical sides of life for me.

Existentialist Atheist
Darwinist

I never believed there was a god, and though I question why people would believe in one/many... I respect them, just not the catholic church

Atheist, existential nihilist.

I think that I'm the only Christian here. :rainbowderp:

I'll just leave it at that, and slowly walk away…

1089198

I'll admit, I'm surprised at the amount of atheists and agnostics. :twilightsheepish:

Essesian Druid.

Simplicity
Humbleness
Love

Very few, but infinitely versatile.... I haven't yet found anything where these three are not the best of the best.....

1090367 *insert platonic hug here*

1092421
Ex-Christian here.

*Joins in*

I consider myself an Agnostic Atheist, I know that I cannot say there is a God, nor prove there is one. But since the default position in belief is disbelief, it is easier to not believe in some deity. I feel the goal in life is to gain knowledge and add to the total pool of knowledge the human race has. This is why I despise idiots who feel that they are not required to learn more; basically all the shallow people you meet on a daily basis. I, however foolish, still try to get these people to think critically and question things.

1162235

Thank you for the response. A rather noble social goal, I must say.

I look at how dumb that average person is, then think that 50% of the population is worse. If I can do anything to fix that, I try. We have developed brains through evolution for a reason, to think. I feel it is a complete waste to toss that ability away and only listen to other's opinions. Also, looking at the clock, I feel sleeping is pointless as well.

Logical conclusions, rational thought, be prepared for the worst case scenario of a bad or itchy situation and find a way to defuse it

I'm an atheist because I find everything to be stupid

Not touching this one with a ten-foot stick.

But I'm generally a pessimistic person.

Uh... I dunno how to describe me but... i CAN list how i'd react in a list of scenarios!:
Finding Majora's Mask: 1.SQEEEEEEEE! 2. Grab it. 3. I wear it. 4. FUCK DROPPING THE MOON, I'LL DROP THE SUN! 5.Turns out imma puppet to Majora. 6.Be all sad. 7. Say "Fuck it. Imma wear the Fierce Deity mask instead." 8.Wear the fierce deity mask. 9. Repeat steps 4-5. 10.Search for Majora's Mask, repeat.
Zombie Apocalypse: ....*runs to cousin and uncle who has guns* PROTECT ME AND I'LL GIVE YOU SCIENCE!!!
Transported to Equestria: RELEASE DISCORD! YAAAAY CHAOS CHOCOLATE RAAAAAIIIIIN! Cuuuuupcaaaaaaakes *grabs hacksaw* WEEEEEEE!
Become Luna: I KNEW IT!!! CAPSLOCK PRINCESS AWAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY *flies through ceiling*
Become Majora's Mask: ...Well then... :pinkiegasp: I can DROP THE MOON AND THE SUN!! CHOOOOCOLLLLAAAATE RAAAAAAIIIIIN!
Become Spike:Ooooh now i can prank the princess... *blows fire onto self and takes Celestia to a cliff, and remove her wings, and pushes off the cliff saying "Long live the princess."*:pinkiecrazy:

Well, if you want to know...
My doctrine and moral code is shaped by Christianity, and I claim that I am one, but sometimes I just don't know.
I believe in the doctrine completely, but I don't put forth the effort required.
I think I'm a hypocrite, and I have to change, but I'm fundamentally lazy.
That's one of my major weaknesses.
Laziness
Indecision
Lack of focus

Right now I'm on a slippery moral slope, and it just keeps getting steeper.

I am... Christian/Atheist? I really don't know. I don't think I'm full atheist, as I don't believe that there is nothing, but I'm nowhere near full Christian, either. Nor do I really fit in any other category that I know of.

Far as I'm concerned, the Bible was shaped by the hands of man, and therefore is fallible, but not 100% incorrect. I believe that God exists, and probably Jesus as well, but I don't believe the Bible is something we should really listen to for that. Rather, it is your own personal relationship with God that you should follow.

I personally always live under the assumption that, despite God existing, Science is almost always correct. Anything can be explained by Science, and things we don't understand are either coincidence or we have just yet to reach the point where we can scientifically explain it.

Also, I believe that humans are basically computers. We don't have a gray area, like we think we do. We simply do everything based on percentage values and a crazy number of environmental variables, making things close enough that a gray area could very easily be replicated.

1416362

Yeah, I suppose so. I've never really had the term explained to me properly, so I opted not to use it... You did say we could just describe. :P

1416389

Being agnostic basically just means acknowledging the possibility of thiesm and athiesm.

Atheist; existential nihilist.
