I know this has little to do with fimfiction, but I figured I'd share it anyway.
On Sunday night, a boy my age committed suicide. He was extremely friendly, talented, and he was also a brony. In addition to living in a broken home he battled very severe depression for years. He was also bullied at school for being "weird" and liking My Little Pony.
I'm seriously in shock. I knew the world was cruel but I haven't experienced something this tragic until now.. Thanks for letting me share it with you guys, love you xx

There are those who call themselves strong and would mock your way of life, but true strength shines from those who stand unwavering in the face of adversity.
If you need help in this you've got your sister and school counselors who are there for these situations. More so I trully feel for an individual who gets bullied because he watches a certain show. I would like to belive that I speak for alot of us when I say we are here for you and to "Stay Strong and Pony on."
It's an odd thing. As soon as humans don't have to face starvation anymore, depression comes and takes this place. Then again, the danger of starvation doesn't erase the problem of depression completely. An interesting phenomenon, this illness.
Well... I'd assume the bullying has less to do with it than the depression. If the household was abusive/unstable, than getting the kid depression meds would be least of mommy's problems.
About a month or so ago, I found out a girl I once knew had committed suicide. I hadn't seen or heard from her in over 10 years, and I probably would have never seen her again. Still, the news caught me off guard and I was shocked. You always hear about suicides in the news or as a percentage in studies, but you never really know what it's like until it hits a little closer to home than you'd like.
You know, there are so many people out there that MLP has saved from the brink of depression and suicide, it's a shame to see that it wasn't able to help that boy. It's also a damn shame when you can see the light inside of others, but they end up putting it out because they couldn't see it themselves. The world can be a very dark and cruel place, but that won't stop us from trying to light it up.
