Let me just start off by saying great googily moogily! I had no idea my new story would generate this much attention and intrigue in such a short amount of time. I have to say, I'm pleasantly surprised. Since thanking you all individually will take, like, forever, I'm just going to say it here. To everyone who decided to fav this story, Hey Diddle Diddle, A Visit From Fiddle: I'm glad it has piqued your interest, and I hope it will continue to entertain you.
Now with that out of the way, I do have a bit of a quandary. See, I've heard at least three different interpretations as to where Octavia and Vinyl Scratch's place is located: Ponyville, Canterlot, and Manehattan. Now, I would choose one on my own, but the thing is to my way of thinking, they all make sense. Based solely on the show's canon, we've only seen Octavia's ensemble perform in Canterlot, and we've never seen her in Ponyville. However, Vinyl's cameo during Fluttershy's botched comedy routine in Magical Mystery Cure implies that she's a resident of Ponyville. And if she is, that means Octavia has a pretty long commute to most of her gigs. But then again, maybe both she and Vinyl get gigs all over Equestria, so they're both used to traveling (we've already seen Vinyl perform at Shining Armor's wedding). Which leads me to thinking that maybe they used to live in separate cities (Vinyl in Ponyville, Octavia in Canterlot), but compromised and got a suite in Manehattan when they became roommates.
I, really hope that wasn't too difficult to follow. My mind can be a pretty wacky place.
Anyway, onto my quandary. Out of curiosity, what is the most widely-accepted fanon as to where Octavia and Vinyl Scratch live?
I have no idea about Vinyl and Octavia, but the Mane 6 hop a train and go wherever at the drop of a hat. Maybe commuting isn't such a big deal to the ponies.
