After months of silence, due mainly to my lack of internetz, I have reached a decision that will probably make lots of you hate me passionately, and draw sighs of relief from even more.
Well, I'm sure that most of you that actually bother to read this know quite well that there was a sort of melodramatic abandonment of my story, Dawning Reality. I took the story down, and I took the blog post where I talked about that down as well. But now, I once again hace a working internet connection, and the motivation to write, albeit lacking in time to do so.
So, it's recently come to my attention that a lot of you guys are hoping for a harem ending. I'm not going to crush your dreams by saying that that's not going to happen, nor am I going to encourage them by saying that it's the most likely outcome. However, if you had to choose and ending that WAS NOT A HAREM ENDING FOR DAWNING REALITY, which ending would you prefer? Just out of curiosity, leave
955355 The hell do you think I've been trying to do? I'll just reiterate what I've told Word multiple times: I can't write. Whenever I try, I get a couple-hundred words in, and I get stuck. I come back later, and I can't continue. I can't find a genre that'll suit me. I can't come up with an idea that I know I can stick with. I have tried writing a oneshot, but I couldn't come up with anything short and sweet. I have tried multiple times, but to no avail. I can't find that drive that I used to have back in Rio, and I can't rekindle my passion for writing. I don't know what the fuck happened, and it's gotten to the point that I've considered giving up altogether.
I've encountered it many times before, trust me. It wasn't until I found the idea of a crossover between my favorite game (PlanetSide 2) and ponies that my inspiration was rekindled.
It's easier said than done, but you really need to take a single idea that you really enjoy, and build a universe around it. I suggest asking questions. An interesting story I saw was "What if an entire society was built around the 'love and tolerence' theme?", and the ideas just kept flowing from there.
A second suggestion is a crossover. Granted, they're less creative, since you're literally ripping off two things instead of just one, but it's a good start. As long as you insert your own creative ideas outside of the crossover's universe (ex. Breaking the rules of the game/movie, or filling in the blanks), you'll do great.
956632 Oh, yay, someone actually acknowledged something I said. What a great end to the week... Like I said, I've been running through numerous ideas, but so far nothing I feel I can make work. It's really depressing, as you might imagine. And I really don't want to get into crossovers. Nothing really against them, but it's just something I'm not interested in when it comes to ponies.
... You know, if you do want to talk about anything, feel free to send me a PM or catch me on Skype or something. Just want to make sure you're doing alright.
Who wants to tell him every time he updates he's going to get featured from now on?
That's... just... AWESOME!
Trc, Spark's outclassing us in writing! We've got to catch up!

Ah, THAT stage of writing.
