All That Singing · 10:00pm Mar 23rd, 2013

Just a mini starter post so I can actually contribute to this site instead of lurking around.

I have absolutely no problem with singing. None. In fact, I love singing. One of my favorite things to do is belt out random songs from My Little Pony. Unfortunately, like pouring copious amounts of powdered sugar on everything, one can always have to much of a good thing. When I watched A Magical Mystery Cure, I was surprised to find that I did have a problem with it. Never mind the strange and sudden way that it launched in to the episode, never mind the whole Twilicorn thing, never mind that it didn't relate to the whole rest of the show, but the singing, oh Celestia, the singing!
Like I said, I can deal with singing and even enjoy it but there were seven songs. Seven! With this, I can not deal. Furthermore, all of the songs lacked real depth, as if the writer of them just didn't give a single care. This is a bit jarring because usually, the songs on MLP are fun, unique and have some kind of meaning. Not these ones. Ok, so maybe I'm overreacting but imagine if all of the episodes were like this. Maybe It's just me, maybe the writers just wanted a reason to stick wings on everyones favorite purple hipster, maybe that episode was made to fill the space where the writers couldn't think of anything, maybe I need to take a chill pill and just watch the show, maybe my cookies are burning on the stove and I need to get them right now. In any case, according to me, A Magical Mystery Cure was less than stellar.
