Wild Card Update · 3:41pm Mar 13th, 2013
The pen strikes the paper once, leaving a black mark behind on the once pristine sheet. After that it moves no more, merely hovers above the white canvas like a seabird hovering above a flat ocean, wondering where all the fish are. The author looks down from on high at what he has created so far, the small blemish on the paper marking out a rune that most speakers of English would recognize as an 'A'. After a few moments he looked up at the audience, the vast collective of intelligences that observed his work with scrutinising criticism. He knew they could hear him, they were always watching, always waiting. Nervously, he opened his dry mouth and addressed them directly.
"I have no idea what to write..."
So yeah, basically that is my main problem. I mean, there's a bunch of other problems as well, such as illness, coursework, exams and such alike. A whole myriad of problems that conspire to rob me of my free time and drive me towards insanity. Because of this, I won't be updating Wild Card this week as I really have no idea what to do next with the story. I'll take a break from studying soon to try and think of some ideas but until then I am a bit lost. I apologise and thank you for your patience.
Sorry,
Barrel-of-fun
P.S. If anyone feels they have any good ideas for what can happen in the story next then feel free to put them in the comments section on this post. I seriously need some inspiration right now. Thank you.
you could make wild card fight an evil, red and black, OP, alicorn OC...
A trip to las Pegasus, Oceans eleven style
a trip to Los Pegasas where ace is pursued for 'cheating' when it was just luck while, so his winnings and money are kept by the house. So he tries to rob it to get his money back (and then some), gets caught but hauls arse and losses the pursuers. iron and summer get sh*t luck and pay off have to participate in a tournament at first they fight monsters to "weed out the wind bags" , get far and both either A) fight eachother in he last round, or B) be a tag team and take on the tag team finalists. meanwhile as the fighting goes on Ace wanders in gets a box seat with his 'winnings' finds out two things, the local casino he litterally and figuratively stole from owns the staidium and a good chunk of the box other box seats and that the love birds are down in the ring. Kicking anything looking remotely like an arse(not literally but do what you want).
Well, list of ideas, just off the top off my head.
Ace going to ponyville, tormenting Twilight with obscure references and Lyra going bonkers over his and Iron will's hands, all the while further exploring the relationship between iron and Storm. The overall plot for the period could be some kind of mystery involving the everfree forrest.
Meeting some of the other chess players, maybe Griffin or Echo. Possibly some of the lesser known ones, like Jazz, Ember or Missy. Maybe talk with the authors and figure something out.
Canterlot and more of the relationship between Luna and Ace would be nice too.
That's about all I have, But I'll report back if I think of more

All are awesome ideas and I may end up using them at some point...except perhaps the alicorn OC one...but I'm currently looking for a way to finish off the current ark in Manehatten. Like, what can Ace and Co. do next against the pirates...to be honest, I have a few ideas but I'm not entirely sure what to do with them. Thanks for the help guys you's da best
914806 I kid! I kid!... mostly.
but yeah, do something involving Ace doing something stupid like: getting highly explosive barrels(of fun) and rolling them onto the pirates. or any other enemy.
More magic shows for profit.
Put tacos in for filler. Tacos always lead to backstory.

Well, since it has already been established that the only reason the pricesses hasnt intervened is false information, they could show up and help figure some of the legal hijinks out, while the trio still get to solve the main problem with the pirates hvaing physical control over the city.
If you mean what the plan to stop them entails, the basics of warfare dictates cutting off their supplies. Maybe Ace could set up some traps on the ships, or Iron could weaken in the hulls, thus sabotaging them without being discovered. Or They could use a combination of Ace's stelath, Storm's magic and Iron's knowledge of smithing to sneak in and weaken the structural integrity of their weapons, thus heightening the odds of success.
This is all in the build up phase of the plan though, and if you're talking about the combat itself, Ace could utilise his magic card of decks and his stealth more tactically than just throwing at a whim, by sneaking behind enemy lines and neutralizing the unicorns first, maybe with the help of the younger guards, so the brawlers have a bigger chance of winning the fight. Again, this assumes the plan even involves fighting, it could just as well be a covert operation to get rid of the leaders of the pirates, in which case a diversion would be in order.
I don't have a lot to work with really, since I don't know what your plan is, but it should stay that way, I like to be pleasantly suprised
Oh and BTW, double reply? Sweet!
Oh, and I apologise for the grammar and such, it was written kind of fast

Lol, my bad with the double reply, sorry about that.
Hmmm, you've given me some ideas that I'm going to expand upon. It's true that I've made the pirates of Manehatten a difficult force to defeat so I'll need some serious power or tactics to deal with them. I have ideas...now I just need time and words.
Thanks for you help
more hats, just sayin'

Always happy to be of assistance
And if you really do use one of my ideas, I fear for what sanity I have left. The resulting happiness might well kill me
Get your tricorne Ace, you're going to do sea-battle with bandits in Manehatten!

When I read "recognize as an 'A'" I'm like "should've wrote 'the' instead!" SpongeBob lovers know why.
But yeah, Wild Card not updating? I'd rather you take your time to make a good chapter, not just spit one out.
