Random Idea #83: Sword vs Gun fights (in visual media)

I had some shower thoughts after watching some various fight shows, specifically about choreography. So, I assume we’re all broadly familiar with sword fights.

Note that “gun” and “sword” here are simply shorthand for any ranged, projectile weapon and any melee weapon, punches and kicks included.

Idea #82: A random review of Cyberformula: Road to the Infinity 1 to 4

The audience for this game outside of Japan is probably in the low hundreds, but after binging the games for the past two weeks, I needed some way to organize my thoughts.

First of all, what is Cyberformula?

Bonus content to Idea #75: Worldbuilding

    Sonic Franchise
Seriously, how the hell did I forget about the franchise memetically associated with hundreds of fan OCs?
    1) Setting: Mobius and other various locales seem to imply a fairly Earth like world [1]

Random Idea #81: Complaining about Scale in third person POV games

In most games at human-scale, and even car scale to a certain extent, the 3rd POV doesn’t greatly change how large things appear to be. Your avatar is still going to look small when standing next to a large truck. The game “It Takes Two” is a great example of this, since the characters are shrunk to the size of dolls and tossed into the insides of machines and snowglobes. A gear the size of a

TGMT: Story of a Bullet · 5:20am Feb 27th, 2013

A bullet marked in green slides into place, a sliver of light falling gently upon it. The hand pushes the bolt closed, shrouding the bullet in darkness, but not before the sound of the empty casing bouncing off steel is heard. Several meters distant, a tiny point of light reaches the bullet, held tightly between its own casing. Inside the casing, a mass of black matter swirls violently, energy eager to be released. Outside, an eye lines up the shot, twists the theatrics setting to zero, and slowly pulls the trigger.

A spark of energy shoots into the casing, transforming the raw potential energy into pure kinetic energy, avoiding the release of any sound or flame. For a moment the bullet's speed was zero. The next, it was traveling several times the speed of sound, with only a small pop to signal its presence.

I yanked back the bolt, watching blankly as the bullet smashed into a wall. With a deep effort of will, I raised my hand and reached into the wal-bzzt

The smoking casing bounced off the floor, joining its brethren as the bullet clips the edge of a distant target. I growled in frustration and loaded in another round into the open chamber of the Full Color Jacket (Sniper Rifle S-12).
