    Beginnings and Endings.

Hello. I still, inexplicably, get attention here. Not sure why. I don't go on Fimfiction, or write ponyfics anymore--I do however, write original fiction, yay!--or really do anything pony related. Don't consider myself a brony, though ponies are always cute, and stuff.

    Important-ish notice: Account closing down.

I won't go into the details. But this account is essentially going to become abandoned after today.

My story, Path of Fomalhaut will be getting transferred over to a new account, so for you guys, don't be confused if the author suddenly has a different name and two hundred less followers.

    Youtube, why!

They just changed their UI again and it looks bloody horrible. :facehoof: Ugh, why does Youtube keep doing this?

Not being written at 6AM, but I am tired, hungry, upset, and unmedicated. So it's close enough to my usual conditions for analysis blogs.

So, what keeps you guys in the fandom? · 2:38am Feb 27th, 2013

Trixie sees a fair amount of threads, blogs, comments and such inquiring on how people got into the fandom, or what they like about it.
But very rarely (Okay, Trixie's yet to see anyone ask...) will there an inquiry about what keeps a person here.
I however, am very curious, so feel free to tell Trixie.

Though of course, feel free to post why and how you ended up here as well. Especially if it's relevant. (Like it was for Trixie.)

the fan-art
the fan-fics
and the community

this community is, in all honesty, the only community on the internet i've ever actually felt like a part of
EDIT: and people like you trixie:heart:

The fandom itself. Its one thing for a studio to make good characters and such, but its another thing completely when everyone comes together like this! I mean we have writers and musicians galore! Plus, you find me a fandom with its own fanfiction website, and I'll show you a gay vampire.

Hmm...Honestly? I stay in the fandom, because I love the show, and I love these various fanfictions I come across. also I love the crossovers, and such. heck, a crossover, is how I became a brony.
Death Battle: Starscream Vs Rainbow Dash. in all honesty, I expected starscream to win. why? basic logic: Giant robot, vs tiny Pony. robot takes step, and squashes pony into ground. boy was I wrong. after seeing Dashie win, I looked up My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, and began to watch the show on youtube, and fell in love with it. and just recently (literally, 2 weeks ago) I bought a shirt that says 'Luna is Best Princess' it's my favorite shirt, because it has my favorite pony on it! Here's the video that made me a brony:

ENJOY!
So, Trixie, how'd you get into the fandom? other than showing up in the show.

Your hot blue ass :rainbowwild:

Probably the fact that I haven't made the feature box, and it's just a fun place to be

Luz

Micthemicrophone's MLD read-through video.

The people I met, I'm a very anti-socal bastard and I love meeting new people even if it's over the computer. And the fact that I love the show, part of me feels as though I want to give up and do something else but let's face it...once an MLP fan, always an MLP fan. I can't quit, I'm more loyal then Rainbow Dash and I just can't give up on my stories and author friends all because the real world is screaming at me to act 'mature' BUCK them, I'm twenty years old they don't like it they can cry in a damn corner:twilightangry2:

fellow fan's creations :pinkiehappy:

I got into it because it helped relieve my stress.

I managed to get a high B on my last final the following day. Said B gave me a low D in the class, saving me.

I am still in the fandom mainly because of this site, the people in this site, I wanna hear Daniel Ingram's stuff, and I wanna see where the show is going.

S3 was a mix of disappointments and brilliance in my mind. :moustache:

I ended up just randomly watchin the show. Ep; season 1. Felt it was good. Recorded them. Got into the fandom. Made art, alittle music, writing.

Stay in cuz all mah friends are here and Ponie are the best. They have been 90% of my life for too long than to live without them.

For me its the community. I've never seen such an awesome fan base before. I mean, we have just and many jerks and trolls as any other niche fandom, but somehow it feels like we still make a difference. Like everything we accomplish together strives to further define us and set us apart from other fanbases. That might be a bit romanticized, but I've yet to see anything to change my opinion, even with the whole LPUnicon fiasco. Of course the fanfics and fanart and the music keeps me there, and well... MLP isn't over either. But when that day comes that the show is canceled (I pray it be in the far future) I can't help but think this fandom has become too ingrained my daily life for me to just ever up and forget about it and leave it behind.

Believe it or not, I had never seen MLP when I first hated on it, my friend was a brony at the time (online gamer friend) and I called it gay without ever knowing what the fuck it was. He showed me a video of Fluttershy killing a bear.
From there, I guess I was into Flutterdash clop and tried to...
I have still yet to find a clop thing with a unicorn thrusting her horn into a pegasi's hole.

Because its a healthy hobby and the fanfics plus the show

I would say the abridges but both opf them are gone now:fluttercry:

I came for the show.

Stayed for the artists and flamboyant others in the fandom.

The show, in my opinion, is going a little downhill now. :fluttershysad:

I was inducted by a clopfic. Then, I watched and liked the show.

Therefore. I was born by the clop. That's why I will die by the clop.

The show for starters. As for this particular site? I've been reading fanfiction with some regularity for years and found that I enjoy reading fanfiction in general so I wont be leaving this site until it closes itself! The art and music make things interesting as well! If I had to add one more reason it would be the fact that I still don't have a Derpy plushie and I would very much like to have one because her eyes are adorable!:eeyup:

zel

You, of course.

fanfictions. I love to see the worlds that others build and imagine all the little tweaks and changes that can be made to them.

What keeps me in it: All of the fantastic fanart and fanfiction, and the growing ability to add to that fiction base.

What got me here: A combination of amazing DevArt images and MondoPony's Picture Perfect Pony PMV. From there I watched Green Isn't Your Color and thought it was hilarious. It snowballed from there, and now I spend too much time writing pony fic and not posting it publicly.

Didn't post anything privately either until tonight. Thanks to you for that, Trixie.

'cause there's a lot of really awesome people that I'm really only capable of contacting via the fandom, and because I have a lot of stuff I've started that I wanna finish.

Easily the people... and the sheer creativity of 'yall is truly inspiring.

From what Trixie has read of your work, I think you are ready to start making your fics public, they are quite decent.

Cirrus got me into MLP and I thank him greatly for it, I stayed because I love writing stories for it and reading the stories other bronies write I cant help but marvel at their creativity, the show is just too damn epic, and Trixies here:pinkiehappy:

The strive to practice my writing skeelz

The people more than anything.

To put it simply, the art. It was the art that got me into the fandom originally, and it is the all the beautiful art that primarily keeps me a dedicated fan. I love the art style of the show itself, I love the fanart, and I love how creative Bronies can be.

The fanfiction...
Specially stuff like Cupcakes or Secret Life Of Rarity... i love a good pony gore. :pinkiecrazy:

The community has its share of mean-spirited, dumb people, but on the whole, I love this site and its inhabitants. Plus, my writing actually gets read here.

Friends, and nothing more. The show was good, but I have moved on from that. Even the groups do not hold me anymore. However, this is one of very few ways I can keep up with friends, and so I stick around for them.

Tough call, as I never considered myself "in" the fandom to begin with. I love the show a whole fucking lot. Although it isn't on the "stopped me from committing suicide" level (as I hadn't thought about such since I stopped being an idiot), it definitely is on the "this thing can make my entire day happier" level. Season 3 has disappointed me a lot, I'll admit, but I hope for the best and I push through it.

As for staying on this website, well, I derive amusement from reading people's reactions to my blogs/stories. A shame they don't state their thoughts all that much, though. I guess I'm not a likable guy. :rainbowlaugh:

I also feel like feeding on brony's tears when I vector sad p0ne.

I think the issue is just that people don't really know how to respond over anything else. :twilightblush:

The people in the fandom that create works of art with what they have.

I pretty much heard it was entertaining and stayed. Not very hard to do since I am readily entertained.

MLP and the fandom are just so awesome:pinkiehappy: I've never known such a fast growing and creative community:raritystarry: If I could live in the Ponyverse I would.:heart:

1416323 For me it started with the kids:raritywink: But once I was hooked I pretty much stayed a fan:pinkiehappy: My one regret is not being there from the beginning :raritycry:
