On the Study and Application of Advanced Carnal Magic

Strange how the similar section on fimfiction and the stories within already know what I am publishing, given their recommendations.

I will have a new story up tomorrow! One of three planned for the immediate future. I'll likely have to post it while I am at work, as I am mentally enslaved to post stories at a very specific time in the day. I've titled this blog post--

    They Always Come Back...

    This is... a little awkward.

For the sake of being concise, I am going to try and keep this blog short short, which is not something I am very good at doing. I don’t talk at all in real life, and on the internet I talk far too much.

    untitled

I have no idea what I’m doing right now.

The cavalcade of thoughts I’ve gone through in the last hour were as varied as the types of sand. Pipe wrenches, garbage, books, family, screaming, job searching, Dunbar’s number, grilling, cats, soul-crushing apathy and anxiety, debts, arguments, swearing. A lot of things in a short amount of time.

Wheatley, You Moron: The Tides They are a Turnin' · 2:06am Feb 23rd, 2013

Soooooo, I'm a good month in school, stuff I'm still dealing with has gone down, and I'm still looking for a new place to live.

The point is my schedule for writing is going to be thrown into upheaval very soon. I've been good at sticking to my schedule, but I have no idea if I can keep in in the coming months. The last time I said something relating to this particular piece of news, I gave my fans the option of choosing when/where I continued posting. That, however, will no longer be an option. I only had At the End to worry about before, but I have more coming up I wish to start working on. More fanfics are coming, and they need their time in the limelight just like At the End. The next chapter will be posted on time, but after that, it's up in the air.

Keep in mind, I will not stop writing - only when the chapters will come out is thrown into question. After chapter 21, "Whenever it is ready" will be my response to when any more content comes out of my mind. I have loads of content to work on now:

Further At the End chapters
Three new stories: Silver and Steel, Semper Fidelis, and 31 Days of Nightmare Night.
More Legends of the Lost Days if my muse allows
A possible collaboration with a fellow author
A biography from yours truly
My first ever fanfiction

I love all of you for staying with me. I can't help but feel a glowing pride that people listen to the quiet musings of this lonely author. I can't say in words how important you all are to me. Here's to the future, friends.

That's the best part about being a Journeyman: I'll always be wandering somewhere. That doesn't mean I'll never be coming back.:raritywink:

haha, Glad to hear that you're feeling great. Wish I could say the same though, I just had a... well lets just say there was a very, "Unbrony" thing commited by another brony on my comment page for one of my stories. I can take criticism just fine, but when its about something personal and that I take very seriously its just.. Well I will not bother you with that, and remember. Forever Love and Tolerate. Sincerely, masterchef227.

I got one a while back as well. Let's just say someone was a little snide in their opinion about the risque bits in chapter 10. I even tried to coax him into elaborating but - alas - it was not meant to be. Some people want to watch the world burn, and some won't give a damn if it does. I routinely get downvotes when I post a chapter while only garnering four real reasons as to why I got them. It's quite disproportionate, but that does not stop me.

So let me give you some words of advice I received from another artist. You have so much potential. So much. You could literally go to the stars, you could. But you don't; instead, you stay at your little job with your little income with your little group of friends. You don't take enough risks, and you stagnant. But you don't, because you've got other things that you do. Other things you want to do. And they seem trivial and silly to most, but not to you. To you, this is where you shine brightest. So you sit there and you write your heart out, and you try to fight through that wall. And eventually, you get tired, tired of everything - no. Not because you've run out of things to write about, but because those things seem like they belong on the quill of someone more important. I'm here to tell you they don't. Don't let your ideas perish and die because you think you aren't good enough for them. Because you are; you have so much potential. Fulfill your dreams: not because you need to, but because you want to. There is no room on this earth for a person who doesn't dream, as there is no room in heaven for a person without ambition. Don't create because you need to, create because - deep down - you want to.

As I said, I'll always be wandering somewhere. That doesn't mean I'll never be coming back. Join me around the hearth when I return. Rest your feet and come listen to the tales.

I should really stop doing this whenever fans sweet talk me. I guess it's one of my tawdry quirks. Stop posting stuff from future events, Journeyman.

Hordes of ponies walked through the usually empty streets of Shady Hollow, far more than those that actually lived in the small town. The skies twinkled with a fine blanket of stars across the night sky. Although there was no wind so late in the year, a slight chill in the air necessitated warmer clothing to hold back the bite.

The rural town was commonplace by pony standards. The usual general store, blacksmith, schoolhouse, town doctor, horseshoe smith, and town hall decorated the town’s very loose grid-like design. Several trees, however, were ancient oaks - broad and hardy trees too difficult to excavate. Such old flora was interspaced between buildings, forcing several homes and shops to be placed much farther away from the main path. If one climbed the mountains on either side of the hollow, they could see homes and farms dotted all along the valley. Some of the more reclusive homes were wedged deep in the forest, obfuscated behind several dense layers of trees and light thickets.

The crickets were out in full force that night, but none cared even the slightest. Even the ever-irritating mosquitoes and gnats that habitually haunted the small town so late in the year were expelled by scented torches. Mares and stallions were out in full force, far more than the scant few that inhabited the town. Dozens herded diminutive colts and fillies from one house and business to the next. Each child was dressed as their favorite storybook character or hero. If one truly looked hard enough, they could see a few fillies dressed as Celestia or Luna.

It was every child’s favorite holiday. It was Nightmare Night.

Their wild hooftsteps and cheerful cries echoed into the night and were swallowed by the layers of trees surrounding the small town. Their hooves did not even clop in the din, as the rural nature of Shady Hollow did not grant them enough funds for a brick or cobblestone road; it was naught but dirt, grass, gravel, and woodchips, depending on whom owned that particular piece of land. Nopony minded; it was their home, where they grew up and where their children will learn and grow. It was not a grand city like Canterlot, nor was it paradise. It was home, and nothing more.

Shady Hollow was a moderately wooded town that was difficult to find even if you knew where it was. Even calling it a town was generous, as it barely had enough ponies to fill a hamlet. Once a year, however, the population exploded as ponies from across Equestria flooded the streets. Whether only a few or at a time or by the droves, ponies entered the town from the only dirt road leading to the outside world.

Flanked on either side by torches, they came. Some came with gleeful smiles on their faces. Others chatted eagerly with close friends and loved ones. Their clothing marked them just as easily as their accents. There were the rough linens of seafaring ponies, posh silks and fitted suits from upperclass ponies with accents from Trottingham and Canterlot, thick wool shirts and blouses belonging to farmers and fellow townies from near and far, and even a few were dressed in appropriate costumes for such a succulent and frightful night. A few lovers were wrapped in more-than-friendly embraces and suggestive flank-bumping, but Shady Hollow was not their home and the streets were full of children and watchful parental eyes. Amorous feelings would have to wait. The newcomers had a destination to reach anyway.

Aaaaaaaand your pic is broken

How about now?

There we go. Bedtime for Journeyman now. Unless I try to write another LotLD story. Those tend to be good when I am sleep deprived.

True to that.

And they're by their own, awesome.

Badda boom. Apologies mate, you used the incorrect form of that word. Should be you're instead. Gotta keep me eyes out fer them gods damned commie word spies...

Deep within the twisted and sparking confines of the Internet, many become lost to the sirens call of an infinite number of distractions. However to others this electric world becomes a portal wherein an individual can share a fragment of their thoughts and ideas...if only for a moment. The impact of these interactions are beautifully unpredictable, and even if they don't last forever the experience alone make the journey worth while.

So thanks for sharing your time and stories with us. I think I speak for everyone when I say we can't wait to see what sort of projects you have in store for us next, whenever that may be XD
