In regards to the Season Three Finale of MLP · 10:18pm Feb 16th, 2013
Bravo, Bravo, Bra-Bucking-Vo! This has got to be hands down the best episode of season 3, The music was superb, the plot behind the episode actually made bucking sense, and Twilight's alicornation is quite acceptably crafted in my eyes. I could go on and on about the merits of this episode, but I will only be focusing on two in particular, one that has more to do with fannon, and the other concerning Twilight's ascension.
First the song Celestia sang just screams love song to me, I was in tears by the end of it, that's how emotionally moving that piece was. I don't know, maybe its the Twilestia in me curbing my view but I don't bucking care!
Now we get to the juicy meat of the matter, the crem-dala-crem of this entire episode, Twilights ascension into alicorndom. To explain it I will focus on the whole crux of the episode the spell, and I quote.
A mark of ones destiny singled out alone fulfilled. From all of us together, together were friends, with the marks of our destinies made one there is magic without end.
Lets cut this down into sections to better understand the utter genius the writers were going for here.
1. A mark of ones destiny singled out alone fulfilled
The first part of the spell cast by Twilight changed the destinies of Twilight's friends, thus singling her destiny out as the one that needed fulfilling.
2. From all of us together, together were friends.
Twilight as the element of magic found her friends one by one and helped them to rediscover their true selves, returning them to their rightful destinies and talents.
3. With the marks of our destinies made one there is magic without end.
The spell finally completed and Twilights destiny fulfilled, The Elements of Harmony responded by uniting and sending all their power into one vessel, the vessel of the Element Magic and creating magic without end inside said vessel. Naturally Twilight's mortal form could not withstand the tremendous amount of power that flooded her body, and thus was destroyed as a result, sending her spirit into the astral plain where Celestia awaited her. There she underwent her ascension, a new body able to handle the endless amount of magic created by the now united Elements of Harmony.
PURE! BUCKING! GENIUS!
Now I do admit the episode did feel a bit rushed and the coronation ceremony left me wanting a little bit more, but otherwise it was very well done. I cant wait to see what gems they produce in Season 4, as long as they keep that monkey known as Hasbro off their backs and tied up in a broom closet to suffocate.
I completely agree with you on this, an awesome episode. And we got to hear Celestia sing, which I have awaited for a long time Now I just want to hear Luna as well.. But if they fuck up and don't make her voice beautiful as hell, I'll be dissapointed

glad you agree and same here, I to want to hear Luna sing I always imagined Luna having a voice that sung like clear water, which they better not butcher.
835742 It's a shame so much folk just can't seem to get over Twilight becoming an Alicorn. I personaly like it, seeing as it opens up to so much new things. And also, when people complain about the third season being mindless and blah blah, I say the following: what do you except? It's written for kids, not us older Bronies, making our more mature veiw so much more different than what the show was aimed for. Maybe I'm just looking too deeply, I don't know
I oftentimes envision Luna's voice similar to that of the singer in Evanescence, yet a bit more elegant and flowing. As you said, like water

Human beings are strange creatures when it comes to panic. as to Luna's voice, for me its more like the singer from Within Temptation.
