    The Shadow of a Doubt

    Hi guys!

Okay, long story short, I realise I've been pretty useless these last few months in terms of actually putting out fresh poni-words. However, I've finally gotten back on the horse dammit gotten back to the keyboard and finished up that one-shot I've been talking about for years.

Not-deadness, new stories and rusty turnips.

    Hey guys,

I'm back, in typical Ardensfax fashion, a month too late with a pack of excuses. I'll simply say this, however; screw exams. Screw exams in every available orifice with a rusty turnip. Okay, I think I got that out of my system; basically, exams are over, things are easing off a little, and story stirrings are happening. Assuming anyone's still here.

In Her Blood - Possible Hiatus

    'Ello.

First off, to those of you following In Her Blood, an apology and a reassurance: For the apology, yes, there's a good chance that IHB will be going on hiatus for a little while. For the reassurance, I'm not losing interest in writing it (by any stretch of the imagination), and it should be back in just over a month.

Obligatory AliTwi reaction. · 8:29pm Feb 16th, 2013

Well, actually, I'd rather mention this.

Yep, she's not dead. I'm happy about this. To be honest, I've noticed an absence of all the little fan-nods this season, like Fluttertree and the I Love Lucy/Big Lebowski things. It never felt like pandering, morelike the team letting the Bronies know that they're aware of us. There's a big difference between that and pandering, and that fan-connection was one of the nice things about the show, so I'm glad to see it reinstated a little.

Anyway. About the actual episode... well, I'm not sure what the general reaction has been, but I went into it pretty dubious and came out having thoroughly enjoyed it. Really, the big surprise for me was how not-rushed it felt. Sure, it could have done with being a 2-parter, so we could have seen more of the characters failing at being one another, but considering the time constraints I felt they pulled it off pretty damn well. It didn't have the 'oh god we've run out of time let's shoehorn an ending in' feeling that's loitered around a few episodes this season, at any rate.

Mind you, I expect Rarity had several horror-induced heart attacks upon seeing Luna's dress/Celestia's crown/Twilight's carriage. But, yeah, my biggest nitpick with this episode is the inebriated costume department. I'm pretty optimistic about AliTwi overall, and that Twilight/Celestia limbo scene was visually gorgeous enough to make up for any other aesthetic derps. Also, good grief, a mainly-musical episode that actually worked. Mr. Ingram, I salute you!

Tl;dr: Liked it, actually one of my favourites this season, up there with Sleepless. Could have done with two parts but didn't feel rushed, Daniel Ingram is as good as ever. Derpy.

Also, new chapter of In Her Blood on the way soon, for those of you following it!

Alicorn on.

Yay! Are you as stoked for season 4 as I am? (I never thought I would say stoked) Also, I am not sure if I'm the only one who saw this, but Lyra and Bon-Bon were standing side by side at the coronation (the ship has been confirmed, mwa-ha-ha). Also yay:pinkiehappy: New IHB chapter!

I try not to leave anything too big, since I might as well start making my own blog if that will be the case (and that would be worthless since I need to actually build an audience or I'm talking to walls), but I personally found the episode to be above-average -- It was far from perfect, but it wasn't terrible....the biggest problem I had with it is that it tried to put too much into a single 22min episode; far far too much...more then that, despite trying to be fair and unbiased, their were simply too much that was glossed over and simplified. It felt like the whole episode made me feel "don't think about it too deeply"....on the plus side however, I thought it had some good execution in some bits, and as a whole, I did find it too be enjoyable...just so long as you didn't think about it too hard and just went with the flow.

There was another Derpy in the beginning on a bridge in the background during the first 30 seconds...

It was so good, I love how everybody was freaking out before this, and I have yet to see anyone.... ANYONE... who had a problem with it. It was quite simply one of the best episodes yet.

Yes! Derpy lives!

YAY! In her blood! Derpy! Alicorn Twilight! I've already done this a few times, if you are wanting to know how I am feeling about responding to blogs right now, recall Pinkie Pie's singing telegram invitations to Gummy's birthday party.

In all seriousness though, I did enjoy the episode, I did notice Derpy, and I'm ready to go read In Her Blood!

I have to mostly agree with you Ardensfax. It was a very well done episode for being only one episode. It wasn't terribly rushed, and I ended up enjoying it. Plus, I definitely didn't tear up at all. Nope, sure didn't.

*sniff*

2 things

1. Derpy lives:derpytongue2: I saw the episode with some friends, after which a friend pulled up 4chan, and we noticed Derpy in that scene, so we go back to that scene since the episode was recorded, and found here:yay: also, one or two frames later, Spike looks high:moustache::pinkiegasp:

2. While it felt a little rushed in my opinion, I agree, one of my favorites of this season, Princess Twilight is best princess:twilightsmile:

Forgot, this one to anypony who noticed

Any1 see the Dos Equis beer commercial reference in the most interesting show commercial with Pinkie?:pinkiegasp:
