My opinion of the Season Finale [Possible Spoilers] · 6:11pm Feb 16th, 2013
So, the episode it's out, Twilicorn drama is still raging and little old me that, alas, was affected by it, has his little opinion.
Yes, Alicorn Twilight is very probably a blatant way to sell more toys.
Does it matter to our awesome writers?
Nope.
In my latest post I've mentioned that a writer has to evolve and adapt to new ideas, to bend the status quo to his will and make art from raw materials. And I guess there cannot be a better clay than a commercial based show for writers that in the years have excited us, moved us to tears and made us laugh our asses off. So, the simple fact that the writing team pulled off one of the best episodes, if not the Best Episode of Season Three is a monument to their skill and a way to prove for us, we few, the happy few, we band of fanfiction writers to evolve alongside the show that allowed us to express that art we held in our hearts.
They got the message of the show: Friendship is Magic. The bond between Twilight and her friends allowed for a true miracle to happen and strengthened itself beyond belief and the character of Twilight showed real growth, and I'm not talking just about the wings, of course. The leader and Inspiration of the Mane 6 is finally looked up from the rest of Equestria as well and there couldn't be a better ending.
And with season four on the way, we have a promise of further adventures.
Maybe I'm just saying old news, but I think what most people were pissed off about was the fact they believed Twilicorn to be a conceivable way to end the series for good. Probably the most difficult question for a writer to answer is what happen after the hero gets his kingdom (or in this case, princesshood)?
I have faith they will pull it off, just in the same way they made a cynic 24 years old with lots of issues and body hair a fan of pastel colored equines and loving it.
See ya!
P.S.
Why no Prince Blueblood?
