"Destiny" rant · 12:51am Feb 15th, 2013
Hello watchers. A few weeks ago, I made a simple blog post that expressed my disdain over Twilight Sparkle being an alicorn for the season finale. Well, I feel like I should go into more detail about my feelings about it. While I hate the idea, I will not throw hate and anger at the show and it's producers. Why? Because I will give it a chance. The producers have surprised us before with episodes that were supposed to be "bad" but have come out with an episode we all enjoyed. Now, what exactly do I not like about this? Well, to start, the moral. After more and more crap has ben released about the episode, I have come to one conclusion about what the writers are going for in this episode. Destiny. Why do I not like the idea of that? Well, imagine this, you want to become a musician, but you're not very good at music. Now, imagine if you just said "Well, I'm not good at music, so being a musician is not my destiny, even though I really want to become one." That shouldn't be your kind of mentality. What you should say is, "I want to become a musician, but I'm not very good at music, so I'll start practicing until I get better."
The point is, "Destiny" isn't even a real thing. Have a look at it's dictionary definition:
destiny |ˈdestinē|
noun ( pl. -nies)
the events that will necessarily happen to a particular person or thing in the future
the hidden power believed to control what will happen in the future; fate
See, necessarily, A.K.A, what people think will happen in the future, not what isguarantied to happen, and/or, will happen, according to Hasbro. What I am trying to say is, don't stick to what you believe is your "destiny" if you don't like it at all, even if you're good at it. Do whatever you want to do, I guarantee that there's some way to become good at something you're not if you keep trying.

Interesting. I can see where you are coming from here, Scratch. Personally, I believe something like destiny exists, but I'll do a whole blog about that in a while, and I agree with you, saying 'I'm not good at something so I'm not destined to do it' is crap (Even tho our teacher seriously tried to teach us that talent is something you can't learn, it has to be in your blood... silly teacher), I personally think it's not the right mentality either.
