Update on my planned fanfic · 1:14am Feb 13th, 2013
Hey there!
Uh, weird first blog, I know. Anyway I'm planning since early January at my new story. As of now, the first draft is about a third of the way done. I'm looking for beta-readers (as of now, I'm eyeing you, Francois ) but they only get to see the story if the first chapter is actually done.
Which will hopefully be soon! Here is a little extra since I'm kinda in the mood for it (and I somehow got two followers without even writing anything?):
This story will be a 'what if'-scenario, featuring Spike as the 'big factor' that changes. What if Spike didn't grow up with Twilight? What if he and she only met the day Twilight arrived in Ponyville? What if the two aren't that fond of each other in the first place?
I will try to remain true to the story but it is clear that this fic will be AU from the very start. It will show a Spike that shows more competence and a Twilight without any mental and physical backup of an assistant. There will be a third character which is changed somewhat but that will remain secret for now. I don't plan on any pairings as of now but maybe some will appear in later chapters. God knows that the canon provides way too many possibilities for any pairing. (Well, except maybe Crackle x Tom but these two were seen way too little for that too happen! I swear, there is a spark going on between them!)
Other than that, there is not much to say of the story up until now. I'm still putting finishing touches on the backstories and as I've stated, the first chapter has just started so...yeah, sorry^^"
I will promise to sit down and finalize at least one chapter until February, 28th. At least if nothing major happens, of course. I'm fully supportive of any bucks to the face if I screw up with the ultimatum I've given myself right here, right now.
Definitely sounds like a worthy read. As for Rarity, I would say the best way to write her is to listen to her voice while writing. Also, when applicable, sticking'Dear' and 'darling' on the ends of sentences somehow always makes it clear that she's the one talking
And, plot: well, using a typical idea, revolve around the biggest problem that arises from the change in the circumstances. Maybe Twilight is less of a role model and more of a mental patient. Maybe Spike has seen dragons before, and is therefore a little more manly and secure. Maybe they fall in love, or maybe they hate each other with a burning passion.
Pick the one that best fits your snapshots, and you're on your way to a story!
