    Words for the dead.

I've made a few friends on here. People I think of outside this site. People who's conversation I value, who's name and face I know.

One of these souls is no longer with us.

Late in February TheMyth passed away from medical complications due to an infection.

old notes · 4:37am Feb 7th, 2013

So with Clastic Glow in the can, I was looking over my notes for the story and reviewing the process. For those of you that enjoyed the story I thought I'd share a few things.

: First here is something that never made it in the narrative, though I wish it had. I just couldn't find the place for it.

The Unicorn leaned in to better grasp what his Master was doing. Threads of magic twisted around target, invading the careful pattern of magic that had been laid into it by ritual crafting. Swage’s lesser magic of enchanting was by the books, it was his ability to supercharge the spell-pattern that was wholly unique. Quench’s classical education in magic did nothing for him here. This wasn’t unicorn magic, it was wild primal force of will. There was no theory or pattern, and Swage didn’t even know the words for what he was doing. He didn’t even have the gift to see what he was doing. And it was all terribly beautiful.

: Here is the original opening to the story

The wheat colored unicorn with dark-brown mane and socks pulled at a steamer trunk with his teeth. His crystal blue eyes bulged with the effort. The porters had unloaded it from the train for him. But, now he had to get it across town to his new place. He hadn't even seen it yet. A colleague had assured him it was a good building, and the lease was reasonable. Butterflies took to his stomach again at the notion that he had emptied his entire life savings into this adventure.

“Are you Mr. Hammer?” A brite voice called from close by.

Swage let loose of the trunk a turned towards the voice “Just call me Swage” He jumped out of his skin when he found a huge pair of eyes way closer to him than he expected.

“Hi, I’m Pinky Pie. Welcome to Ponyville” The pink mare blurted out at him, grinning ear to ear.

“Need help with that?” Came a dull smooth voice from a hulking red stallion standing behind her.

“Please” Swage said flatly.

“Anything breakable” Big Mac asked looking at the trunk not much smaller than himself.

“No, just bedding, a few tools, and some personals.”

Mac deftly flipped the trunk onto his back. The luggage landed on his broad shoulders with a thud, knocking him halfway to his knees in the process. Mac shot a look of annoyance to the trunk as he found his balance again. “Umph, did you pack your anvil?”

“Yes”

Mac shrugged at the answer. Once he got the weight settled, it seemed to have no effect on him.

“I’ll carry your saddlebag” Pinky chimed. Already reaching for it.

Swage turned, putting space between her and the heavy canvas bag. “No, I don’t anywhere without my bag... Thanks though.”

Pinky Shrugged then took to bouncing in circles around him as they walked.. “Well Lets get you to your new home then. Normally we have the welcome party in the library. But since your place needed cleaning up, we decided to welcome clean-up party!”

Sure enough it was a welcome party and everypony was cleaning something to. Swage was cheered as he walked into his new home. It was brightly lit, warm, and decorated with party favors. Ponies nibbled at snacks and shared stories as they cleaned up some part of the long abandoned building. It seemed that each pony had been given a small chore to do.

By the end of the night his place shined like a gem and he had been introduced to no less than a hundred ponies.

Yep! that's right Swage started life as a Unicorn
