Ponies are slowly taking over my life... · 2:05am Feb 7th, 2013

>Mom got suspicious because I accidentally called her "sugarcube".
>Mom also got suspicious because I started looking for a Macintosh apple in the store, and I've started eating braeburn apples recently when I've never heard of the cultivar before.
>Dad, who also happens to be my boss at work, is suspicious after hearing me sing "Loyalty" by Mandopony and "Autumn (Derpy Hooves)" by Jackleapp at work to pass the time.
>Dad also got suspicious after seeing me color a Fallout 3 character's hair blue and name him "Shining Armor"
>Both looked at me weird, but said nothing, when they saw a picture of Luna as my desktop background.
>I keep using "Eeyup" or "Nope" when asked a yes or no question.

Help me...

Just come out and say it. The longer you keep it a secret the worse the potential reaction will be.

I told my mom about bronies from Day One. Hell, she loves the fandom.

They're your parents. If anything, they only mean the best.

Here's the problem: no matter how much I say I look at girls, mom suspects I'm gay. This... well, this falls under the category of "potential sign that my son is gay", even though I've had five crushes on girls and one I've had a three-year relationship with.

Well then your mom has some serious issues.

Seriously, thats just weird.

What about your dad?

It's odd to him. Seeing as he is more aware of the fact that I'm interested in girls (he's the one that supported me beginning the aforementioned relationship), I don't think he'd mind as much but won't think it's 'manly'. I'm content with keeping it as much of a secret as possible before they find out then saying "Did I really change all that much from how you knew me before? Can't you see I've been better off since I started watching and you didn't even know?"

Hmm...well, at least if worst comes to worst, at least ONE of your parents could understand.

But you should have a plan thought out. Maybe have a few good episodes on hand to show them.

Who knows, maybe when you tell them, they'll like the show too. Happened with my family.

(shrugs) Mine don't give a shit what fandom I get into (usually just get vacant looks and, "Uh-huhs" when I idly chat about 'em); guess I'm one of the lucky ones. :)
