Makes me a sad pony when brainless corporation take control.
My Derpy keychain will forever remind me that there's always some people happy to crush what you love.

Corporations need to make money in order to keep producing products. They are not magic. They have goals, and they have established systems for reaching those goals.
768510 For Hasbro, there's two way to play it:
- Create a great show, good enough that people will want derived products from that show.
- Create products and forcefully insert them in that show.
Guess which way they took?

We knew going in that the show was created in order to market a toy line. Assuming otherwise is a delusion. If the episode is bad, then complain.
And if you're upset that Derpy was removed, then track down those in the fandom responsible for the absurd overreaction to her appearance and take it up with them.
768592 I was hoping with Faust, which made it clear that marketing a toy line was not part of her goal, that Hasbro would had understood that you first make a great show, and then you derive your product from that.
I guess the message was lost in the mail.

No, that message was an artist's foolish hope that the world ran on sunshine and friendship, not money. This is a common misconception; it runs on money.
768686 I never said otherwise. But the two ways I said I both ways to make money. One is from a closed mind investors who doesn't care what is made as long as money comes in, and the other is from an individual who want to make a good product that people will want to buy.
I make video games to be good, so that people will want them. Yes, money is still the primary goal, but I'm not making a games just to make a games.
A good example is Valve. They make a TON of money. But what was the last bad game they did?

And one of the two makes more money. From a corporate viewpoint, this isn't even a choice worth worrying over. Holding the inevitable against them is silly.
If you'd like, I can buy you a drink.
You need a blog post title.
Where was this from?
768734 Hasbro Total Equity: 1.39 B$
Hasbro Employees: 5,800
Valve Software Total Equity: 2.5 B$
Valve Software Employees: 400
To me, both makes a lot of money. One makes money by creating products their employees believe in.
But I will take you on that drink if you come around Quebec sometime... Or San Fransisco in March.
768789 Oups. Reddit.

Damn. Well.
I truly miss what I feel was the golden age of this fandom, i.e. before Season 3.
you know, this makes me want to learn how to hack, hack into hasbro's website and replace their logo with a picture of a crying derpy.
Yay, they corrected the animation error. It was about time
1892150 I'm the first happy to admit I was wrong. Yay for Derpy!
